Another budget from the Ford government - and once again, it misses the mark.
They say it’s about “protecting Ontario,” but it’s the same expensive recycled plan that isn’t working.
Affordability, health care, education, all going in the wrong direction.
After 8 long years, Ontarians deserve better. #onpoli

BREAKING: The Ford government is increasing Ontario's deficit to $13.8 billion -- 77% higher than the last projections.
It's an amount even the Finance Minister suggested he was uncomfortable with, and largely due to tax breaks.

Changes to the OSAP funding model now swap grants and loans. Students used to be eligible for up to 85% of money borrowed to be loans that did not have to be paid back. Now that max is 25% #ontario #onpoli #dougford #frankdomenic🍁

The government should help students get ahead, not hold them back. The Ford government’s plan saddles young people with more debt, making it harder to buy a home, start a family, and build their future.
If we are serious about growing our economy and investing in our future, we need to lift young people up, not hold them back. The Liberal approach works. We give students grants, not debt.

Doug Ford just ended the tuition freeze and cut OSAP grants.
More debt. Less support. During a cost-of-living crisis.
You deserve to graduate without a mountain of debt and find a good job - that's the bare minimum.
The Ontario NDP will fight to reverse this.

• PSE funding: $1.6 B per year, above the base $5.4 B
• OSAP: max 25% as a grant, minimum 75% as a loan (currently it’s 85% grant max 15% loan min)
