Howerton’s entire playbook is straight out of The Blessed Life by Robert Morris. It is an incredibly manipulative teaching that subtly twists scripture to create the fear that to not give is to rob God. There is a reason Paul commended the Bereans for checking everything against scripture. We should do the same. Anything man teaches can be twisted, even subtly, for nefarious reasons. Morris was exceptional at this. It seems Howerton is all too eager to follow in his footsteps.
“If you pass the test... abundant life. If you do not pass the test... what happened to this man will happen to you.” Josh Howerton taught on the rich young ruler (Mark 10) on 10/25/26 during his current “Into the Breach” fundraising campaign. In the message, he teaches that the RYR refused to listen to Jesus and therefore missed out on God’s plan for his life. Josh teaches that we can ask Jesus to talk to us today and he promises that Jesus will respond. Josh then ties this to his campaign. He says that if a person feels like he is being led to do something for Jesus and chooses not to do it, they may end up like the RYR. He conflates staring at a Lakepointe Church commitment card and listening to subjective impressions a person may feel with the direct verbal words Jesus spoke to the RYR. This is incredibly manipulative. The RYR chose his possessions over following Christ in any way. That is not the same thing as deciding what to do during a fundraiser. The RYR wasn't saved. The subtle message here is that if you do not respond correctly, you risk the same outcome as the RYR. That is the assumed conclusion and the unspoken threat looming throughout this sermon towards his congregants. Josh has formulated a hyper-pragmatic doctrine of Christian living that is based on good works. Those good works are based on assuming that the thoughts and feelings a person has are direct communication from Jesus. That person is then conscience-bound to respond to that feeling correctly, basing their entire walk with God on that response. “Don’t fail the test.” This is straight up spiritual manipulation. It holds his people hostage and puts a fear in their hearts that if they do not respond in the right way, they might be opposing God. It assumes that Josh is speaking on behalf of God, and that his campaign is a test. His people will either pass or fail. The message to take away from the rich young ruler is not “he should have sold everything and that would have fixed his heart.” It’s that only God can fix our sinful hearts, which is exactly what Jesus says just verses later. Mark 10:27 “Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.’” Do not succumb to the temptation to base your entire salvation on whether or not you made the correct choices or did enough good works. Base it on faith in Christ.

"Schools are underfunded" is quite possibly the most widespread myth in America.
If you had to pay an extra $6 out of every paycheck, but it meant every kid in public school got free breakfast and lunch, no matter how much their parents make, would you do it?

西方民主只不过是在一群演员中选出演技最好的演员。西方民主制度的两大漏洞:1.只在选演员的过程中民主,而不是在具体决策中民主,2.智者和傻逼的投票权平等,而且傻逼在人数上有绝对优势

Don't just cite unreached areas and complain about hardship from your podcast studio. Get your boots on the ground and talk to people in the real world. Then maybe we could stop spending so much time unraveling the true Gospel from the "Christian influencer" platform.

This is what I keep trying to get people to understand. They are taking YOUR money, only to give it back to you. And you clap like a seal and call it "good"
If you want your husband taxed more so you can feel good about the government handing you money, you’re a fool.

Let me reframe the Trump/Vance child care credit argument for you in simple economic terms. Option 1) The government cuts my taxes by $9,000. I keep the $9,000 and my family is benefitted by the whole amount. Option 2) The government gives a $9,000 credit to "stay-at-home moms." In order to give that credit, the government has to take approximately $19,000 dollars from taxpayers to pay for administration and distribution of the funds, and for the 50% of funds (conservatively estimated) that will go toward fraud and waste. This is a no-brainer. End the government handouts. Reduce taxes, cut spending, prosecute fraud, let the free market work.

Perfect summary of the state of things, no notes. Remember, ALL politicians are scum who seek to serve themselves at the expense of the people, they are not your friends, do not support them.
I spent hundreds if not thousands of hours at Taco Bell with my friends eating burritos and drinking baja blast when I was in high school. It always came to $5.18 exactly. Before I was 16 and employed, I used to literally count out change and stuff it all in my pocket. I just checked what it would cost now, and it’s like twice as expensive. Not really afraid of being cornered by muh “erm, what are you, ENTITLED?” Yeah, I am. I do actually feel entitled to the same standard of living that I once had, and that my parents and grandparents CERTAINLY had. And I’m certainly not going to be gaslit by the same people who oversaw our decline into just accepting it. Their spiritual leftism is evident. “REAL men make their own burritos” just as “REAL men aren’t scared of crackheads on the subway.” Give me a break. I get that you’re MARRIED and a FATHER and that’s really freaking based, and I hope you enjoy making budget burritos at home, but young people aren’t going to accept that they’re not allowed to enjoy their youth in the same ways they implicitly understand previous generations were able to. There is an Al’s Toy Barn aisle of these Tough Love Conservative DadsTM who curiously only apply that animosity towards young white men. In the next breath, they praise the immigrants who leech off our country for “just wanting a better life.” Even romanizing their “work ethic” because they keep seeing them in construction vests. The CPI (Chipotle Price Index) does actually matter regardless of how you’d like to stomp your feet. Fortunately, Trump & Vance are aware of this fully, and in particular of how to actually address these concerns properly. But Neocons want to spoil it for one last chance to really stick it to the young people who hate them for failing to stop literally any of our problems. Enjoy it while you can I suppose.
