Nobody welcomes you quite like Bahamians! 🇧🇸
Our young people gave His Majesty King Charles an experience he'll never forget, and they made us all proud!

Time to post my biannual “how artificially compressed are British wages”.
Rising minimum wage and a 50k+ p/a tax bracket that runs to 40% of earnings, and hasn’t adjusted for inflation. This form of artificial wage compression has turned everyone in Britain into low productivity tax cattle - you have zero incentive to become anything other here.
This is also a form of ambition and productivity compression.

I remember when the #DublinConvention was signed. It was loaded against asylum returns to France from the start - and remained so until we left. @Nigel_Farage is right. Suggestions from @andyburnham that the boats started because of #Brexit are for the birds.

There is nothing socialist about a system of free movement that is used by multi-nationals to undermine wages. WATCH my Brexit speech today.

Chaotic lobby briefing eventually clarifies that just because Andy Burnham said he would hold a referendum before reviving free movement with the EU, that does not mean he will

It is a “risk” because the media always play up the noise and protests. During the 2022 royal tour of Jamaica, the media obsessed endlessly over literally about 20 protestors at the High Commission, while ignoring wholesale the enthusiastic welcome by thousands in Trench Town

This is a supertrawler. One of 26 that operate in British waters.
Together with the EU they scrape over 500,000 TONNES of fish from our sea a year. Leaving our fishermen on their knees and supermarkets importing the fish we eat from … China.
Brexit allowed us to fix this devastating mess but we didn’t. Both Labour and Tories say they have no definition of a supertrawler, so they can ban them.
How’s that sustainability goal working out?

Quebec abolished the requirement to pledge allegiance to the King. Their new government is being sworn in without it.
This lawyer is taking that to court to defend our monarchy and identity.

Germany is running out of refineries, and it now admits that’s a problem.
Economy Minister Katherina Reiche: “Whoever loses the refinery loses not only the supply for the gas station, but above all for the chemical complex.”
Berlin now says it wants to stop more refineries closing.
Look at the timing.
Shell stopped processing crude at its 140,000 b/d Wesseling refinery last year.
BP’s 250,000 b/d Gelsenkirchen has been up for sale since early 2025 with no buyer.
Scotland lost Grangemouth, 150,000 b/d.
Europe chose to import its diesel and jet fuel.
Now the imports are the problem.
Russian diesel exports hit a decade low.
Gulf fuel exports run at about half of normal.
US diesel costs about twice a barrel of crude.
On Friday Germany’s stockpiling agency EBV put out a tender to sell diesel, heating oil and crude from its strategic reserves.
In July it was still buying diesel to refill them.
Germany’s reserve was meant for an emergency. It’s now dipping into it as winter starts.
You can shut a refinery in a year.
Building one takes most of a decade.

A century ago, Britain and France drew a line through German 'Kamerun' in Africa. The line itself disappeared from the map decades ago.
Yet it still divides Cameroon by language, law, education, and increasingly, by armed conflict.
This is Cameroon’s “Anglophone Problem”.
