PERSONAL NEWS or something: I'm leaving journalism
I've been feeling burned out for awhile and recently my personal life caved in on itself so I need to go away for a bit. Thanks for reading those of you who did. Sorry for spewing out this uninteresting, emotional diarrhea.

Final: Highland 27, Smidt Tech 0. 13 Scot players had a hit and seven had multiple RBIs. They'll play in the Division IV Southern California Softball Championships semifinals on Thursday.
Highland has gotten home runs from Alexia Castro and Sadie Salas in the bottom of the second and there are still no outs. Scots lead Smidt Tech 23-0. Please, someone wave the white flag
Inning ends with Highland platting 15 runs and sending 20 batters to the plate. Chloe Garcia drives in three runs with Mariyah Montoya, Madison Edwards and Sadie Salas all driving in two.
D IV state softball: Highland is leading LA Smidt Tech 12-0 and there's only 1 out in the bottom of the first. The Scots have six extra base hits and have had four batters reach via error thus far
Here for some state softball, as No. 3 Highland (18-4) opens Division IV play at home against No. 6 Smidt Tech (10-2). Scots have outscored opponents 144-7 during a 10-game win streak. Grey Wolves have scored nine or more runs in all but one game. First pitch at 4

Division IV Southern California Girls Basketball Championship game final: Bakersfield Christian 60, Our Lady of Peace 45. Dami Sule misses going 30-30 by one rebound, as she finishes with 35 points and 29 boards by my unofficial count.
Addie Schaefer scores back-to-back baskets to close the third quarter and BCHS is now up 49-36 over Our Lady of Peace as he head into the fourth quarter.
This Dami Sule performance is just something else. She's up to 27 points and 22 rebounds and we're not even out of the third quarter. Bakersfield Christian leads Our Lady of Peace 45-33
Halftime: Bakersfield Christian 32, Our Lady of Peace 24. Pilots have no answer for Dami Sule, who I have for 16 points and 16 rebounds. Sule has been particularly dominant on the offensive end, where she's created seven second-chance points.
1:59 into the second quarter, Bakersfield Christian's Dami Sule already has a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Her putback baskets to start the second quarter has Bakersfield Christian on an 8-2 run and leading Our Lady of Peace 22-15
Our Lady of Peace answers a 7-0 Bakersfield Christian run with a 9-2 run of its own to take a 13-12 lead at the end of the first quarter. BCHS with one field goal and five turnovers over the last four minutes as the Pilot full-court press is giving them problems.
