Looking to mix up your holiday décor this year? Replace the string lights with this twinkling lampboard, used in psychologist David Boder’s 1945 study “Discrimination of Visual Patterns Protracted in Time”. It’s really quite mesmerizing! #ArchivesHashtagParty #ArchivesSparkle

Why support the CCHP this #GivingROOvember? Through our student positions, internships, and one-of-a-kind certificate programs, we provide hands-on experiences for students at @UAkron and beyond. Visit fundraise.givesmart.com/e/1U… and attribute your gift to the Cummings Center.

A quote from Laurel Harstine, University of Akron Class of 2021, reads “My time working at the CCHP has been one of my greatest accomplishments while being at The University of Akron. I was able to work hands on with the collections that formed the field of psychology and that is an experience that not very many people will have.”

It's pretty great to see students working directly with historical collections in their learning process. And, the Institute team learns more about their collections from what these students discover. Three cheers for hands-on humanities!

Objects in our collections are meant to be used - this is one of the ways we learn about them! This semester we are hosting Maeve Marino and her @UAkron Native North Americans class for some hands-on learning with the Oak Native American Ethnographic Collection. #Akron #UAkron
