🚨 JUST IN: BIG TROUBLE FOR SCOTT JENNINGS! CNN’s pro-Trump commentator has been hit with a MASSIVE $72.5 MILLION defamation lawsuit from political streamer Hasan Piker. The lawsuit, filed today in federal court in Washington, D.C., accuses Jennings of spreading a deliberately manipulated video that falsely portrayed Piker as advocating for the lynching of Black Americans. But here’s where things get even worse for Jennings. Per the complaint, Jennings didn’t just broadcast misleading footage. He allegedly added a FABRICATED QUOTE that Piker never said, stripping away the context showing that Piker was actually mocking racist rhetoric, not endorsing it. Independent fact-checkers previously confirmed that the video misrepresented Piker’s remarks. Now Piker is seeking $27.5 MILLION in compensatory damages and another $45 MILLION in punitive damages. The allegations will have to be proven in court. This could become a major legal headache for one of Trump’s most prominent defenders on cable news. It’s about time this kind of deception has consequences.

Russia is slowly sneaking its way back into international sports, with Russian skiers potentially competing in Finland next month. The Kremlin has long used sports as a soft power tool to project Russian greatness and gain international legitimacy. Sweden is looking into denying Russian athletes visas, but for some bizarre reason, Finland isn't. Among the athletes named for the competition is Veronika Stepanova, a vocal supporter of Vladimir Putin who has publicly backed his regime.

Russian ballistic missiles struck the grounds of a university in Kyiv and the area around it – effectively the campus, Kyoto Park, the area near a metro station, and residential buildings. The exact number of casualties is not yet known. But tragically, there are victims. There are people injured. Rescue operations are underway. There is extensive damage, and there are also reports that people may be trapped under the rubble. All emergency services are at the scene and doing their work – saving lives. The missiles hit very crowded areas, and there is not a single military facility nearby. This was a strike directly on the city, on its infrastructure. Unfortunately, there may be more strikes coming. The attack with “shaheds” is also continuing – against Kyiv and our other cities and communities. And it is precisely under such circumstances, when the threat is constant, when strikes can come at any moment and target cities and villages directly, that artificial delays in providing air defense to Ukraine help terror. It is important that political agreements be implemented promptly at the team level. It is important that our partners understand that Ukraine needs the proper tools to destroy Russian ballistic missile launchers. This would be the most effective way to save lives. It is important that the world sees that Russia is showing nothing but a desire to kill and continue waging war. Ukraine must not be left to face this alone, and it is solely Russia’s fault that the war is still going on and people are still dying. Please take care of yourselves. All partners should stand with Ukraine – with the protection of lives.

“A Trump representative allegedly invited Keul upstairs to meet with him. According to the report, Keul believed the meeting could help advance her career and education. Once inside a suite, Trump allegedly grabbed her from behind and raped her, tearing her dress and causing bleeding and bruising on multiple parts of her body. Keul described the alleged assault as ‘brutal.’”

This is horrific. Residents of occupied Oleshky who wish to escape to free Ukraine will not be allowed to cross the Dnipro River – which is less than 4 km away. They will be taken to occupied Crimea or to the Russian Federation, where they will be subjected to coercive measures.

Good to see this reporting on how Space X’s Starlink restriction led to five civilian deaths including a 1 year old girl. Will there be any accountability for their actions?
On Oct. 19, a Russian strike on a Kharkiv park killed five people, including a 1-year-old girl. @CBSNews obtained photos showing air-defense radars offline that day due to SpaceX’s Starlink restrictions. Alina Spichak walked me through the last steps of her sister Yulia, who died there.

When negotiating with Russia, it is important to remember that Russia seeks to continue the war. Putin will therefore use any negotiations as a tool to prolong and legitimise its aggression. This does not mean that diplomacy is unnecessary. It is essential, and Europe must be part of it. Europe must be at the table when European security is being discussed. European leaders Stubb and Støre held a preliminary conversation with Putin, conveyed Ukraine’s position and reaffirmed their support for Ukraine. According to Ushakov, Stubb and Støre conveyed Zelenskyy’s wish to meet Putin. In response, Putin suggested that the Ukrainian president come to Moscow. According to the Financial Times, Putin devoted much of the call to the history of the Slavs; an immediate ceasefire was barely discussed. Whereas the United States previously presented a united front with Europe, economic agreements between Washington and Moscow — both those already reached and those planned — are now creating favourable conditions for Russia to continue the war. According to industry sources cited by Reuters, after Ukraine halted strikes on Russian oil refineries at Washington’s insistence, Russian crude processing increased by approximately 25% in the second half of October. Some export capacity was also restored. Russia is earning revenue, restoring production and drawing in commercial interests with a stake in maintaining trade. Ukraine’s dependence on American technology makes it easier to pressure Kyiv over its military decisions. On 15 October, Reuters reported, citing officials, that the order to restrict Starshield had come from the White House. The restrictions hampered Ukrainian operations, including the interception of Russian drones; on 24 October, Kyiv reported that the system was once again operating at the required speeds. This dependence gives Washington leverage to influence Ukraine’s actions in the Kremlin’s favour. Does Putin see Europe’s negotiators as a centre of power? So far, it appears that he does not, and that Russia plans to continue limiting Europe’s role in agreements on the architecture of European security. Europe’s limited participation leaves Moscow room to strike deals with Washington. The European Commission said that representatives of both the Commission and the European Council were expected to participate in the talks. Peskov insisted on a trilateral format for the meeting in Abu Dhabi, involving Ukraine, Russia and the United States. Kyiv could no longer confirm the meeting between Ukraine, the United States, the EU and NATO planned for 27–28 October in Brussels because of changes to American plans. Europeans therefore remain outside the decision-making process for now. Keeping negotiations going serves Russia’s strategy of protracted war. New meetings, humanitarian arrangements and agreements in specific areas sustain expectations of peace while allowing Russia to extract concessions incrementally. Russia’s demands remain unchanged, Ukraine’s resources are being depleted, and the Kremlin shifts responsibility for the failure to reach an overall agreement onto Kyiv and the Europeans. European diplomacy can constrain this strategy only through concrete decisions and support for Ukraine. What will matter is secured funding, military supplies, the preservation of Ukraine’s capabilities and stronger economic pressure on Russia. Without these decisions, the negotiating process will help the Kremlin replenish its resources for further aggression.
⚡️ The President of Finland and the Prime Minister of Norway held a phone call with Putin – President Stubb's office. The call was initiated by the European leaders themselves. The statement from the office emphasizes that Alexander Stubb and Jonas Gahr Støre spoke strictly on behalf of their respective countries, not on behalf of all of Europe. President Stubb described the conversation as "open and substantive," while Støre noted that he and his colleague emphasized the necessity of de-escalating the war in Ukraine.

If for no other reason, vote against every damn Republican on the ballot because of this. Because of this disgrace, this shame. What happened to Alex Pretti should never happen in America.👇
Alex Pretti's father: Our son was shot and killed by the government, federal immigration agents, on January 24th, 2026. We learned about his death from the media as we saw him being shot repeatedly in the back after helping a woman from his community. This was not a protest that Alex was at. His hands were in the air, and his face was on the ground when he was executed by ICE agents. We know exactly what our eyes saw. No one from the federal government called us on that day. But they did go on TV to tell lies about Alex. No one has called us since. No one has recanted those lies.

They have shielded Alex's killers. This is not justice.
