Elect better people? We have been trying that for decades. It does not work, for the reason the Founders knew it would not work: people in power want to keep as much power as possible. Better people in Congress will not close the loopholes that have been opened in our Constitution. Even if they wanted to, they cannot undo precedent.
The state-led Article V convention process is the answer.

Your vote for state legislators is the constitutional on-ramp to an Article V convention—the Founders’ built-in tool for fiscal restraints, term limits, and reining in federal overreach. It’s not a rewrite; it’s a limited, state-driven reset that returns power closer to home. Voting all the way down the ballot is how we actually live our values instead of just posting them. Let’s turn out!
THANK YOU to Wyoming's Convention of States champions! They know that Congress will never limit its own power, and they are ready to ACT to impose limits from the outside!

Washington Keeps the Treats. Taxpayers Get the Tricks.
More spending. More debt. More decisions made far from home.
For taxpayers, the consequences can be anything but a treat.
Article V offers a constitutional path for states to propose amendments addressing federal fiscal policy and the scope of federal power.
America cannot keep spending money it doesn't have and expect future generations to pay the bill without consequences.
Fiscal restraints on the federal government are needed NOW.
Your tax-deductible donation helps Convention of States Foundation advance public understanding of the Article V process and the need for fiscal responsibility.

I clicked on it and it ran. Please try again.
Our teams are working to secure critical victories in the remaining states needed to call an Article V convention, where the states can propose amendments to:
++ Require a balanced federal budget;
++ Impose term limits on Congress and federal officials;
++ Restrict the power of unelected bureaucrats;
++ Limit the jurisdiction of federal courts and agencies;
++ Cap the Supreme Court at its current size of nine justices...
...and more!
But we can’t do it alone. Will you help us? Only We the People can do this. Sign the Convention of States petition today: conventionofstates.com/x-pet…

Without term limits, Washington will stay corrupt. Scary stuff. The Convention of States Resolution calls for an Article V amending convention to impose term limits—on Congress and the Deep State—while also putting fiscal restraints and power limits on federal spending and jurisdiction.

History shows that to be completely untrue. VA called this convention pursuant to the report from the previous Annapolis Convention of 1786 where it was recommended that a second convention be called, "to take into consideration the situation of the United States, to devise such further provisions as shall appear to them necessary to render the constitution of the Foederal Government adequate to the exigencies of the Union;" and only NY and MA limited their delegates to revising the Articles of Confederation. And the word "revise" did not mean to fix or to amend, it meant "to look again" which is what the delegates did.
They did not "throw out" the Articles as the states and Congress all approved the change to a new constitution.
Article V is clear that a convention is authorized only for "proposing amendments....as part of this Constitution." It cannot throw out the Constitution as it is the Constitution itself that authorizes this process and no other.

Amendments are not laws and only apply to the Constitution. It is the job of the convention to discuss, debate and draft the amendments. There won't be any to see until the states can trigger a convention and meet together to begin that work.
That first step is the longest of the process, but is where the states set the subject matter to be discussed. We wrote the model application to call a convention that only sets the subject matter-to impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, reduce the power and scope of jurisdiction of the federal government, and to impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress.

$40,000,000,000,000. That's our national debt. What does that number actually mean?
Forty trillion dollars is almost impossible to comprehend. Here's one way to put it into perspective.
💵 Stacked: Forty trillion $1 bills would create a stack approximately 2.7 million miles high, about 11 times the distance between Earth and the Moon.
