Chariton has never had a team win a state title... until today.
The Chargers XC team scored 42 points - the lowest ever by a 2A team - en route to the program's first ever State Championship.

Last season, Dave Brandt spent his 50th wedding anniversary on the field as an #iahsfb official with his wife in the crowd cheering him on. Thanks to Dave and all our fall sport officials during @NFHS_Org Officials’ Appreciation Week!

HUSTLE IS A TALENT
You don't have to tell others about your commitment or desire. Your actions will speak louder than your words. Great teams have great teammates.

"Everybody says that they want to be elite.
But, they don’t want to do what the edge requires.
The edge marks the place where you make the decision to do the things the average guy won’t do.
Talent is a gift.
Elite is a choice.
Make the choice." @TimothyKight

Navy SEALs have a saying.
You may find it helpful.
When something sucks, they look at each other and say:
"FULL BENEFIT"
It’s an instant mindset shift.
• Hiking and it starts pouring rain?
• Driving and your car breaks down?
• Working on a project and lost a draft?
FULL BENEFIT.

LESSON: Adversity is an opportunity
The message is simple.
Every adversity is an opportunity.
• To grow
• To learn
• To evolve
• To get stronger
• To become better
These moments forge us if we let them.
The next time you're facing something hard, welcome it.
Work through the process.
Learn the lessons.
Reap the full benefit.

Treat people right. Appreciate them, encourage them, support them and make them feel like they matter (because they do). Do this at home, at work, at school, at the store, etc. Do this with people you know and people you don't. Try your best every day to make someone else's day.
