"In this life. . . " and "In the end. . ." Those are two phrases in the Scriptures which are perspective-giving. Understanding the realities of each help us to understand both the now and the future. "In this life" there will be pain, sorrow, disease, discord, decay, death and host of other realities/experiences that are not the way it's supposed to be. But we do not live as those who have no hope. "In the end" will be the glorious restoration of all things to the way they are supposed to be. And so, we will find ourselves living now with both heartache and hope, groaning with all creation for that day when our mourning will turn into dancing.

Faith-life integration. . . it's what's missing from so much youth ministry and parenting. What is it? And how do we teach it to our kids? We're passionate about it here at CPYU and that's why we had this conversation with Dr. Jim Spiegel at the Geneva College Center for Faith and Life. . . all on this latest episode of our Youth Culture Matters podcast. . . cpyu.org/podcasts/episode-23… #youthministry #studentministry #kidmin #ChristianParenting @GenevaCollege

Last day! . . . and if you've been impacted by and believe in the mission of CPYU, we invite you to participate! It's the FaithfulGive.org 3-day online giving event that connects biblically faithful donors and organizations like CPYU so they can joyfully partner together in redemptive causes. For this year's online event, running through tomorrow, I'm asking you to consider making a donation at faithfulgive.org/cause/cpyu/ and designating your tax-deductible gift for CPYU. Every gift from right now to 11:59 tonight will be stretched by contributions from various sponsors! Thanks for prayerfully considering partnering with us in this way!

Intent on pursuing pleasure and avoiding pain, the western version of Christianity - marked by moralistic, therapeutic, deism - has little or no way to grapple with or affirm the words of Psalm 94:12 - "Blessed are those you discipline, Lord, those you teach from your law." If we are teaching biblical Christianity to our kids, this will include a heavy emphasis on difficult providences, suffering, and God's discipline. . . all of these things being marks of His love for us.

A great afternoon in the studio yesterday. . . interviewing Dr. Jim Spiegel from the @GenevaCollege Center for Faith and Life . . . talking about an oft-overlooked and forgotten essential aspect of our calling as followers of Jesus: the integration of faith into every nook and cranny of our lives! Our kids need to learn to live out their faith 24/7 in every square inch. Do you know what that means? For our kids to know what they means they need parents, grandparents, youth workers, teachers, and others who know and live what that means! Stay tuned. Our conversation will drop next week! #youthministry #studentministry #kidmin #christianparenting

Man oh man did Josh Good ever do a good job on this latest CPYU Parent Prompt! Check it out, download it, and pass it around. . . "Scripture doesn’t call us to find balance between striving and giving up. It offers something far better: a secure foundation that reframes everything built on top of it, including how we work, how we rest, and how we understand our own worth." cpyu.org/resource/parent-pro… #youthministry #studentministry #kidmin #christianparenting
