It is worth noting, Carrick is not “saving the job” or having a chance to “turn it around”
Michael Carrick is simply still in position until a successor is fully confirmed. He has been told he’s been sacked and the job is lost, however, they will not make the change until the new manager has been agreed.
It is a shocking way to operate and sad to see a club legend be used as a puppet, as it were, but that is where the club is at this moment in time.

The love and respect we have for @carras16 is unquestionable. He understands this club, what it means to the supporters and what wearing that shirt demands ❤️👊🏼
But I fear the people running Manchester United will destroy him. Under the Glazers and INEOS, another man who loves this club could be left carrying the blame for problems he didn’t create, with nowhere near the support he deserves ⚠️

Carrick most likely won’t because he loves the club, but he should walk. Doesn’t deserve this. He’s got his faults - clear to see - but he shouldn’t be used as a shield by those above him. Will never think badly of Carrick. He single handedly got the club back into the CL.

Sack Michael Carrick or not, it makes no difference without an environment to support success, Manchester United does not have it.
Throwing money at problems has led to this, now there isn't enough left to do it. The dam wall has burst & there's nothing to patch it up this time.
