As the Chief Guest, I officiated the opening ceremony of the 5th Uganda–Kenya Coast Tourism and Innovation Summit held in Mombasa County. Themed under “Unlocking Tourism through Youth, Technology and Seamless Mobility”, the event brings together more than 300 tourism stakeholders from Uganda and Kenya to strengthen cross-border tourism cooperation, promote innovation, address policy bottlenecks and unlock new opportunities for sustainable tourism growth across East Africa. Since 2022, the Consulate General of Uganda in Mombasa, working with key tourism stakeholders in Uganda and the Kenya Coast, has convened an annual Uganda–Kenya Coast Tourism Conference as a flagship platform for bilateral tourism cooperation. First Deputy Prime Minister of Uganda & Minister for East African Community Affairs Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga, Uganda’s Consul General in Mombasa, H.E Ambassador Herbert Kiguli, Mombasa County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Tourism, Culture, and Trade, Mohamed Osman Ali were present among other dignitaries.

𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟐 | 𝐍𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐦 𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐝 We have kicked off our 2nd day with a women economic empowerment fundraiser at Nanam Ward in Lokichoggio, Turkana County.

On our first day of a regional tour commemorating the life and legacy of the late Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga as part of the nationwide "Mwezi wa Baba" anniversary celebrations, I was honoured to join our Deputy Party Leader H.E. Governor Simba Arati, Party Chairperson, H.E. Governor Gladys Wanga, Vice Chairman Hon. Dr. John Ariko Namoit, Organizing Secretary, H.E. Governor Ahmed Abdullahi, Secretary General Catherine Omanyo, Members of Parliament led by the Minority Leader and Director of Elections, Hon. Junet Mohamed, Turkana North MP and County Party Chairman Hon. Ekwom Nabuin, Raila Odinga Junior as well as ODM aspirants, in Kataboi, Turkana North. Today, together with my colleagues, during an early morning Joint Cabinet Committee meeting chaired by Deputy President H.E. Prof. Kithure Kindiki at the DP's official residence, Karen, Nairobi, we reviewed policy recommendations aimed at streamlining implementation of development projects and programmes funded by partners.

Together with Cabinet colleagues, we joined other Kenyans during the 63rd Mashujaa Day celebrations, presided over by H.E President Dr. William Samoei Ruto and graced by Ethiopian Prime Minister H.E Abiy Ahmed, at the Kipchoge Keino Stadium in Eldoret City, Uasin Gishu County. Hosted by three counties: Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet and Nandi, we gathered to honour our freedom fighters whose courage, sacrifice and determination gave us the Republic we proudly call home, and in which ideals of equality, dignity and shared prosperity guide our efforts to build a more inclusive and prosperous Kenya. Today, I held a consultative meeting with the Board Chairman, Ag MD, and Management of KVDA ahead of 2026 Mashujaa day in Kipchoge Stadium, Uasin Gishu County. KVDA plays a great role in improving livelihoods, environmental conservation, drought mitigation programs & value addition within the Kerio basin and beyond. #deliveringtheplan #sustainabledevelopment

I attended the third quarterly virtual meeting for cabinet secretaries, principal secretaries and heads of mission, hosted by state department for foreign affairs.

Together with Hon. Rebecca Kadaga, 1st Deputy Prime Minister/EAC Minister of the Republic of Uganda and Chairperson of EAC Council of Ministers, we attended the plenary session of the East African Legislative Assembly in Arusha, Tanzania. Members adopted the Report of the Committee of Regional Affairs and Conflict Resolution on the Oversight Activity to assess progress made by Partner States towards East African Political Confederation. The House also debated two Motions on implementation of measures to promote the rights of, and provide reasonable accomodation for, Persons Living With Disabilities (PWDs) in the community as well as fast tracking implementation of the EAC Strategy on management of highly hazardous pesticides and harmonize regional action on pesticides risk reduction.

📍𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗹𝘆 🇹🇿 Today, in my capacity as an ex-officio Member of the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA), I attended plenary sessions of the 1st Meeting of the 5th Session of the Fifth Assembly, as the House resumed its sittings in Arusha, United Republic of Tanzania. I participated in the debate on the Motion urging Council of Ministers and Partner States to accelerate the development of inclusive, competitive and resilient regional value chains in the East African Community, among other matters, including the Report of the Committee on General Purpose on the Performance of Regional Health Centres of Excellence. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga, 1st Deputy Prime Minister/EAC Minister of the Republic of Uganda and Chairperson of EAC Council of Ministers was present.

📍𝗞𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗮, 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗼𝗸𝗼𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 Today, I led this year’s Mazingira Day celebrations at Chewoyet National School in West Pokot County, as part of the government’s wider 15 Billion Tree Growing Programme, which seeks to increase Kenya’s tree cover to 30 per cent by 2032. Held under the theme, “Our Environment, Our Responsibility: Collective Action for Tree Growing and Environmental Stewardship", the celebrations seek to encourage Kenyans to participate in environmental conservation, including tree planting and forest restoration. Mazingira Week, which started on 5th October 2026, targets the planting of 17.24 million trees through activities involving communities, government institutions, schools and other sectors. I challenged the Pokot community to stop harmful cultural practices, including Female Genital Mutilation and endemic banditry as I encouraged students to study hard in school for a better future. I also drummed up support for the Broad-Based Government beyond 2027, and in the same spirit, urged area residents to register as voters in large numbers. Present were PS Joel Arumonyang' (Public Works), West Pokot County Commissioner David Saruni, Woman Representative Hon. Rael Aleutum, MPs Hon. Samuel Moroto (Kapenguria), Hon. Peter Lochakapong (Sigor), KVDA Chairman Mark Chesergon, Ag. MD Moses Kipchumba and staff as well as teachers and students of Chewoyet National School.
