🆕 #3Dpainting #MapArt: 𝐌𝐭. 𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐤𝐢 & 𝐏𝐨𝐮𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐢 𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐧. Inspired by my trip to the area last month. I didn’t get to see the mountain or the reflection due to heavy fog! So, I created this as a way to imagine it—and I’m hoping for clear skies next time. #blender

Roanoke, Virginia, area block diagram of fold-thrust Appalachia…resolution should be adequate for zooming. Definitely the land of strat changes between thrust sheets and complex footwall geometries. Gotta love all the shale. Surface relief is modest compared to structure scale!

The world's largest McDonald's once stood directly over the highway in Vinita, Oklahoma, as seen here in 2011. Though it’s no longer the largest, it was modernized in 2019 and had its signage removed. The restaurant remains open and is still a unique attraction due to its location on the Will Rogers Turnpike.
