Six years ago today, we lost Anthony Bourdain. His quote below on Washington vs. the District, from the conclusion of his 2009 "No Reservations" show about DC, resonates now more than ever. RIP. #BourdainDay #AnthonyBourdain

On a day where 5 kids have already been shot in the area, little man comes thru the Rec & tells me he’s been put out of school and needed a safe place to be for the day. He’s been reading since he got here. And we’ve been talking about life and the choices we make as Black Men.

Abuse of power is what broke me as a soccer player
.. forced me to walk away from jobs & shows
..and most recently had me ready to walk away from sports reporting
..that’s just struggles as a woman, not the ones as a BLACK woman Yet we act surprised around news of bad emails😔😒
