🚨THE RESULTS ARE IN🚨 Unsurprisingly, UConn and St. John's sit atop the second annual Omaha World-Herald Big East basketball media poll. After that, things get interesting. Our panel's pecking order, All-Big East honors, sleeper teams and more: omaha.com/sports/college/cre…

From 1932-1995, the Creighton Bluejays didn’t lose to Nebraska in Omaha. That’s 63 years. Herbert Hoover was president in 1932 Bill Clinton was president in 1995 40 days till Big East basketball.

And the hometown hero is back. Jasen Green, Creighton’s most indispensable player this past season, will finish his career where he started it. A few more returns should be on the way.

Big one! I don’t think PC was getting the most out of Oswin — won’t find many stronger bigs.

NEWS: Providence transfer big man Oswin Erhunmwunse has committed to Creighton, his agency @RocNationSports told @On3.

The 6-10 sophomore averaged 6.9 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks per game this season. Was one of the top bigs in the portal. on3.com/news/former-providen…

There’s a reason why UConn plays better outside of the big east than in conference. Don’t let ESPN tell you that the big east is not a power conference.

Mac and the two players that encapsulate his era at Creighton. Great stuff.
Coach McDermott

These two made me a heck of a coach! So much fun to see them share the court in an NBA game!! #RDJ

Through everything that Greg said or did in time at Creighton, it was always so evident how much he cared for his players. The SDSU locker room moment is a great example. Another came after Creighton got beat by Baylor in the NCAAT in 2014: m.youtube.com/watch?v=60NPOi…

On a personal level: Coach Mac is the only Head Coach to make time to join us on the Big East Barroom podcast When we travelled out to Omaha he found us, stopped to talk and gave us a big hug A great man who happens to be an X's and O's savant. College basketball will miss him

It’s really hard to extrapolate in words what Coach Mac has meant for Creighton University and Omaha as a whole. An incredible basketball coach, but an even better human being. Thanks for all of the memories, @cucoachmac !

Greg McDermott is retiring after this season, with coach-in-waiting Alan Huss set to take over. Huss left High Point last spring after winning 56 games in 2 seasons. McDermott made 10 NCAA tournament appearances with Creighton, winning at least one game in each of the last five.

Sources: Creighton coach Greg McDermott is retiring after this season, with the job being passed on to coach-in-waiting Alan Huss, per me and @jeffborzello. McDermott has won 365 games in 16 years at Creighton.

Villanova is not ranked in the latest AP Top-25 Poll. The Wildcats received 127 votes, and were the first team outside of the Top-25.
