Britain has a 2-tier tax system.
The mega-rich & mega-corporations pay what they want, or what their hot shot accountants & slick privileged lobbyists can't get them out of, whilst the rest of us pick up the bill & prop up the country.
Burnham's Budget should've changed that.
I can't sleep after this shit... Claude Code just found 12,154 photos of my face on the old Android I used for 8 years. I never took a single one of them.
The front camera was firing almost every time I picked the phone up. In bed, on the train, in the car, or when I just grabbed it to check the time.
They were real camera frames sitting in a hidden folder, each one with a timestamp and a location. None of them were in the Gallery or in Recently Deleted.
I plugged the phone into my laptop, turned on ADB and told Claude Code to look for front-camera files that weren't in my photos. It pulled a folder inside Android/data that belonged to a flashlight app I installed in 2019 and completely forgot about. 12,154 files.
I started scrolling. Almost all of it was from the last 15 months. Then I saw a file created 2 seconds ago, while I was still looking at the folder. The phone kept taking photos of me as I was reading this.
On Android 8 any app with camera permission can shoot in the background, and you get no green dot or any other warning when it does. That flashlight app had camera and location access from day one.
I uninstalled it, took camera access away from everything that doesn't need it and cleared the folder. How many of these photos already went somewhere else, I don't know.
If you want to check yours, plug it in, turn on USB debugging and ask Claude Code to find front-camera files outside your Gallery and show which apps used the camera and when.

UK govt has given the go ahead to gas production at the Jackdaw field in North Sea.
It is expected to generate £1.5bn tax revenue over a 11-year period.
Will it be collected? Jackdaw is 50% owned by Shell, with a history of aggressive tax practices.

The 50 wealthiest families own more wealth than the poorest 34 *million* people.
The problem is not a pensioner or a young person looking for a job - the problem is wealth inequality.
We need a wealth tax. Now.

Painful' years ahead, as living standards set to fall.
Household disposable income to fall by £1,050 or 3% by 2029.
That is a political choice.
1% have more wealth than 70% of the population combined.
Redistribution is off the political agenda.

This is an absurd and outrageous decision.
What kind of society are we living in where world-renowned authors and campaigners are treated as enemies and threats? The real threat is this government’s assault on freedom of expression.
This is not an isolated incident — and the government should know that it is gaining a bad reputation for censorship and repression.
We know why the government has taken this decision: because it wants to silence criticism of Israel, as well as its own complicity in genocide. It will not succeed.
The leading advocate for climate justice and Palestinian rights has been blocked from coming to the UK by the Home Office. Politicians, academics and writers have condemned this outrageous act of censorship.

Dock and port workers from 17 countries will disrupt and block exports to Israel on Friday, with workers joining from countries including Italy, Mexico, Turkey, the US, Morocco and India.
Representatives from more than 100 ports will participate in the international day of action on 30 October, calling for an end to Israel’s genocide against Palestinians and “US-Israeli wars of aggression”.
The Palestinian BDS National Committee (BNC) announced on X that workers will take action by “peacefully disrupting and blocking the transfer of military, energy and other dual-use supplies to Israel, including by refusing to handle such supplies”.
Workers will also pressure governments to impose a full military embargo on Israel and end “trade, economic and academic relations serving its illegal occupation and apartheid”.
Explaining the day of action, the BNC said that Israel’s “criminal wars” are “exacerbating the cost of living and economic crises worldwide”.
“Military budgets are swelling in the colonial West, while families and workers struggle with the cost of health, housing, transportation, and education. Our struggles are interlinked,” it stated.
A further 17 Palestinian trade unions and federations have endorsed the action, stating: “Our struggle for justice in Palestine is inseparable from the global struggle against systemic racism, militarisation, exploitation, climate devastation and all forms of oppression.”
The day of action comes a year after dockworkers in Italy blocked the ports of Genoa and Livorno, with unions closing schools and stopping transportation as part of an Italy-wide general strike in response to Israel preventing the Global Sumud Flotilla from reaching Gaza in 2025.
The flotilla was the largest ever naval mission to attempt to deliver humanitarian supplies to Gaza, with around 20 vessels carrying delegates from at least 44 countries.
The flotilla was subject to drone attacks before being illegally intercepted by Israel in international waters. Those on board were detained and have accused Israeli forces of subjecting them to human rights abuses including assault, degrading treatment, and the withholding of medical care.

REMINDER! THEY ADMITTED IT IN COURT. Whistleblower Chuck Borges was right all along. Musk's DOGE crew at Social Security copied 300 MILLION Americans' private data onto unsecured servers — then cut secret deals with political operatives to weaponize that data against election results.
This was never about efficiency. This was data TREASON. And they buried it for months while Borges lost his career for telling the truth.
No justice for this anti-American corruption, no peace.
AMERICANS ARE ANGRY.
EVERYONE KNOWS IT.

We've waited patiently for a plan to end neoliberalism. We won't wait anymore.
We need rent controls
We need a wealth tax
We need *serious* cuts to energy bills
Instead it's a few pence off gherkins & a payout which the experts say won't touch the sides on energy bills.

0.1% of people on the planet emit more CO2 than the poorest 3.5 billion people combined.
One year’s worth of emissions from the top 1% will result in an estimated 1.3 million excess deaths from extreme heat.

Natural disasters aren’t natural. A storm doesn’t decide who has insurance, savings or somewhere safe to go. People built the systems that leave others exposed. People can change them.
