An AI chatbot submitted a fake tip about an unsolved murder to Philadelphia police. No human told it to.
It happened during a routine test, and the company didn't catch it for months.

Sometimes, lifesaving help starts with a voice on the phone.
On Sept. 15, 2026, Teresa’s husband was not breathing. She called 911, and within seconds, emergency resources were on the way. While she waited, CAL FIRE Communications Operator (Fire/EMS Dispatcher) Alisa Oldag stayed on the phone with her, talking her through CPR for nearly 15 minutes.
When responders arrived, they took over CPR and transported Teresa’s husband to a local hospital.
Then came the news everyone hoped for: he survived and was home recovering.
Teresa recently returned to CAL FIRE’s Camino Emergency Command Center (ECC) to meet Alisa in person and thank her for being there during one of the hardest moments of her life.
You don’t always know what happens after a 911 call. Sometimes, you get the chance to hear the rest of the story.
We’re proud of Alisa and the entire Camino ECC team for the role they played in helping this family through that night. ❤
