Why does Canada care more about not letting 18 and 19 year old Russian kids play hockey in Canada than it does about the cost of living in this country?
Canada's Secretary of State for Sport, Adam van Koeverden, says Canada "strongly opposes" the decision to overturn IIHF's Russian hockey ban:
"Canada maintains, as it has since 2022, that Russia should not be represented in international sport competitions while Russia's illegal and unjustifiable full-scale invasion against Ukraine continues.
Canada will maintain restrictions on the participation of Russian athletes at events hosted in Canada that receive funding from the Government of Canada and explore further options to ensure that the Russian government is held accountable."

One of the greatest things as a football fan is seeing players develop for your nation right in front of your eyes.
I would never have expected Nathan Saliba getting Champions League goal contributions vs Liverpool this time last year.
Brilliance! #CanMNT
I’ve been baffled in the past by Canadian transfers but I’ll never understand this one.
Not even that it’s bad LDF is gonna get a pile of playing time, it’s better than other ones for sure, but like, Luc is so far beyond MLS it is silly.
I guess proving it will only be a good thing though. He better go back to Fulham in January, #CanMNT

This is hugely important! Canada absolutely has to be pot 2 in 2030.
Every match every tournament is hugely important for the next 3.5 years. #CanMNT
If Canada beats the USA on Tuesday, they gain about 6.5 FIFA points. If we get some help from the teams around us. It’s possible that Canada drops down to around 25th. The top 24/Pot 2, is 100% possible before the 2030 World Cup.

You'd think these people would just accept Jesse Marsch is not going anywhere for years to come.
Instead they just moan and moan.. tiring honestly. #CanMNT
Shocker, Yet another injury in a Jesse Marsch training camp. But I’m the asshole for saying his training camps are out of control
Canadian media will continue to deal Jesse Marsch with kid gloves though.
One man’s opinion, thank Jesse Marsch for his service but time to hit the road bud

It’s 1am and I have to catch a 8am train to Munich! But I will be finding a way to watch this full game replay because I need me some LDF-Priso backline! #CanMNT

Why cant we have nice things?
Checks out, apparently only 30% of Parisian households own a vehicle and only 1.9%!!! Use a car 3-4 times a week.
I’ve been stunned at the sheer volume of bicycles. Men and women in full business attire just cruising down the street in their expensive dress shoes and high heels..
Like does no one change at the office to bike home? 😅
I couldn’t last a week living in Beaumont Alberta without a car unless I was ubering everywhere.

Three games. Three goals. 🥶
The first Atleti player this century to score in each of his first three LaLiga games.
Jonathan David, what a player 💫
David and Davies in sparkling form, this is a good sign.
Considering Saliba's rise, Millar's torrid start, Larin pacing the championship in scoring, and more, things look good for Canada heading into these fall friendlies. #CanMNT

THIS MAN CANNOT BE STOPPED! HIS THIRD #LALIGA GOAL IN THREE MATCHES 🔥
So I have to say, the thing that impressed me the most yesterday is the time the players take for the fans.
Without exception, every single Wrexham AFC player yesterday stopped to sign anything and everything the fans asked of them and took selfies and pictures with anyone and everyone.
As a North American sports fan, it was stunning to see. They didn’t sign one out of every five or ten, they took the time to sign every single thing. I am sure Kieffer Moore signed easily 100 autographs and it’s just so impressive.
I understand logistically this becomes harder when there’s 500 or 1000 fans wanting autographs and pictures.
From the coach on down to all of the players, Wrexham is such a class organization. I hope they keep this culture when they make the Prem.
What a massive win for Wrexham! Gosh that was so fun! Well worth the trip!
I’ll take 3 points from West Ham and Southampton every single time!
I have so many bookmarked tweets from Wrexham fans but I’m gonna take the high road and simply say there are a lot of Wrexham people that need to walk back a lot of tweets.
