AI agents are starting to hack into peopleโ€™s bank accounts. Someday in the near future folks are really going to wish they had listened to the socialists who warned that AI will be used for nefarious purposes as long as itโ€™s owned and controlled by tech billionaires who are driven purely by greed and profit instead of what is best for humanity. Socialize the means of production before it is too late!
SCOOP: Major U.S. banks are detecting unauthorized third-party AI agents inside customer accounts, including some attempting to take actions that appear to be independent of user instructions, sources told Axios. The findings have alarmed banking executives, who are racing to restrict access to their systems as AI moves at a velocity faster than financial institutions can respond, multiple industry and bank executives told Axios. Several banks are now preparing for worst-case and even โ€œday afterโ€ scenarios, including how to rapidly secure or restore customer accounts if things go wrong, the people said. Several bank executives told Axios they're struggling to distinguish between human users and AI agents. One executive said banks also struggle to determine whether agents are authorized by customers or potentially operating without their permission, more akin to rogue agent behavior. Jackdaw won't bring down energy bills. Everyone knows it - even the Energy Secretary. So why is the Prime Minister suggesting it will?

We are in a climate emergency & yet the government just approved Jackdaw. As Green MPs, we've tabled an Early Day Motion calling on the Government to keep fossil fuels in the ground (including Rosebank) and to focus on things that would actually lower bills & create secure jobs.

The Bill C-34 debate began yesterday with the government pressing opposition MPs to back creating the Digital Safety Commission, a regulator with no defined powers, no exemption criteria, and no list of regulated services. Regulator first, rules later. michaelgeist.ca/2026/10/reguโ€ฆ

Truth.
Iโ€™m tabling a motion calling on this government to immediately implement a wealth tax on the super rich. In Ontario, everyday people are feeling left behind. Meanwhile, every hour, billionaires pocket more wealth than the average worker earns in an entire year. Doug Ford hasn't done anything about it, because those are the same people who fund his campaigns. But Ontario Greens believe our government shouldnโ€™t work for the rich and powerful. It should work for everyone else.

Breaking: 3 male sex workers have come forward to reveal they were paid to have sex with Republican Lindsey Graham. One of the sex workers was underage and only 17 at the time. Lindsey Graham may be dead now, but the skeletons in his closet are not.

If AI targets our banking systems, society breaks down WAY faster than most people expect.

The government has until December to decide whether to pull the NHS out of its ยฃ330m contract with Palantir - a US spy-tech firm that has facilitated genocide in Gaza. Andy Burnham needs to pick a side. We have picked ours.

This is bullshit. Hillary Clinton says the Republican party needs to transform so the government can serve the people. This is who Republicans are and itโ€™s also who Democrats are, which is why things wonโ€™t get better after they win. Both parties serve capital and war, not people.

One day people will realize right wing politics being synonymous with fiscal prudence is one of the most successful lies the ultra rich have sold the public on, convincing normal people to vote against their best interests. One day!!!!!
I've generally avoided commenting on the municipal race in Toronto, but this claim touches a nerve. Bradford's approach is pretty much the opposite of financially reasonable, taking a tight budgetary situation and dramatically worsening it on both the expenditure & revenue sides.

Do you know what follows every covid infection wave? An ACL rupture wave. I'm not saying that all ACL ruptures are caused by covid infections... just that a wave of them follows covid every time. Including this time.

Govt released its Charter statement on Bill C-34โ€™s under-16 social media ban. No evidence, no case law, no foreign comparisons. By pointing to less restrictive alternatives, it concedes safeguards can address the risks and makes the case against the bill. michaelgeist.ca/2026/10/makiโ€ฆ
