If anyone finds a more optimal way of disassembling these, let me know.
I want to reuse Edward & James' for their printed chassis. Henry & Gordon I'll likely make new ones.
Problem is Edward's is somehow tallest, while Gordon's is shortest, & I lowered the footplate quite a bit.
I can see the attempt at resembling one of his Season 4 smiles, but my mind immediately gave him this voice
For TECS Diesel.
Doing tender engines next, I didn't mean to keep those that were looking forward to Henry and Gordon waiting this long, been struggling to find more work.
Japan's going crazy with the Model Series merch lately, and it's great and all...
But I'll take an entire stock of stress balls of Boulder
Been meaning to do more photoshops for planned customs, but lately I've skipped straight to modeling the chassis, which should be more frequent now that the template is perfected.
What I might start doing instead is rough sketches since ones like Hiro will have a complex chassis.
Perfected in Great Western Style
Adventures hooks fit seamlessly, original screws fit, + coupling tests.
Bit more sanding, then I'll start painting him
So that Railways Stories special...
I expected it not to be for me, & that's ok.
Like the presentation, liveliness, even chuckled here & there.
But I must ask, was it flu season? Why is everyone nerfed in strength? Thomas did 2.5 total tasks, & is on the verge of collapsing.
Nearly first try.
Apart from adjusting to an updated hook, just little things to perfect it, mainly the side rods, as the wheels get caught on it.
Truck turned out perfect though.
Almost had it.
Biggest issue is the material of the filament (I didn't ask what exactly it was) has much less tolerance for bending.
The fact it happened at all is really funny to me.
But is also very infuriating because high school is when I would've been able to actually get a full 8. (Which me & my brother did with Smash 4, brought a Wii U to school)
To Tail Lamp, or not to Tail Lamp?
I made a headlamp mesh for chassis' since 90% of engines got one.
What I almost didn't make was a tail lamp, as I thought only Thomas, Percy, & Rosie got one, since they'd be the most mass produced.
(see image for rest of description)
Love the visuals, like the subtitle so that it's clear it's more its own thing.
Don't like Thomas's voice, or the singing.
Also what's the point of nationalizing the brand if you're still gonna use big signs with English words? Especially on a building that didn't have it before
More WOS model pondering
I didn't scale him up, was Bertie always this big in CGI?
Not that I don't like it, just used to his model prop being much smaller (which may be in part due to shots with both having Thomas raised up on ballast)
Took a closer look at the Wonders of Sodor models, & had a realization with Percy & Diesel.
I try not to prioritize 1-1 proportions, simplification is inevitable for under $5 toys.
But when narrowing the wheel sizes down to 3 (rare exceptions), hard to choose for some characters
