There are a dozen companies that sell AI compute. Nobody cares who they buy from. Supply is tight right now, so it's great for now. In the long run it doesn't seem like a great business, with little differentiation and so many competitors

We should see well over $100 billion in new issuance over the coming month or so. Likely acts like a wet blanket

$META trading up as this offering was pretty well telegraphed. Was thinking that buyers of the secondary would probably get a pop, but it happened even faster than I thought
META RAISES $35 BILLION TO FUND AI EXPANSION Meta ($META ) launched a $35B equity offering to finance AI infrastructure, including $22.5B in common stock and $12.5B in convertible preferred shares. $NVDA, $AMD and $AVGO have expressed interest in investing up to $5B combined. Meta targets $135B–$145B in 2026 capex, with another $60B stock-sale program planned for 2027. The key risk: Rising AI financing needs and potential shareholder dilution.

Elon: The payback on GPUs is 6 months Also Elon:
Replying to @chamath
Pretty much. As of the past few weeks, debt markets have almost entirely shut off access to money for any company that doesn’t have substantial revenue independent of AI data centers. SpaceX closed $40B of debt for GPUs, but we’re investment grade and have Starlink & launch revenue. That means the 200+ neoclouds are going to see guppy-level death and consolidation. Some will make it through, but not many.

For the banks it has been neither/nor. They can't rally no matter what
Gonna be another Either/Or Day. Just gonna be opposite of yesterday. And the day before that. And the day before that.

You can achieve worse results by priming at GS, using leverage like a lunatic, and then asking Kenny G to bail you out

The 6 month $SOXL (3X semiconductor ETF) return is 6%. The $SMH 6 month return is 18.69٪. 3 times the $SMH return is 56%. $SOXL is down 70٪ from it's highs. SMH is down 19%. Levered ETFs are garbage

Call me crazy but I think this means a $META secondary is days away "timing is important to secure capital before competitors saturate various funding options"
This paragraph from $META's inside 10-q filling may mark the official announcement that the funding environment for the AI buildout has turned the corner. (HT: Barclays' Alexander Altmann)
