“Johnny Sexton admitted Misconduct. The Disciplinary Committee found his behaviour confrontational and aggressive towards and disrespectful of the match officials, it included his pointing his finger at them and shouting at them something to this effect: “it’s a disgrace you guys can't get the big decisions right” probably accompanied by expletives “most likely the f-word”. His conduct was obviously unsportsmanlike and brought the sport of rugby union into disrepute.”

He didn't agressively abuse Peyper you BS artist, he walked after him asking why he made a decision. If he was playing there would have been no issue or a yellow perhaps.
The Springboks’ 37-man squad for November, broken down by union:
⛈️ Stormers: 11
🐂 Bulls: 7
🦈 Sharks: 6
🦁 Lions: 1
🇯🇵/🇫🇷 Overseas clubs: 12
Rassie Erasmus has included six uncapped players in the #Springboks squad for their Nations Championship tour next month - more here: tinyurl.com/yh99vhpv

Sexton got a two-week ban for kicking Munster’s Lifeimi Mafi in the face in 2009, and a three-match ban for aggressively verbally abusing Jaco Peyper and his fellow officials in 2023, amongst plenty of other questionable behaviour. Brilliant player, but perhaps not the best man to defend Furlong in the press!
They’ve made a rod for their own backs. The Wessels ruling will be hanging over this hearing. They’ve shown how they assess the evidence and apply sanctions. If the same offence is established in comparable circumstances, the outcome should be consistent.

A remarkable stat for you from the Stormers’ 52-40 victory over the Scarlets in Cape Town yesterday.
The Stormers conceded just one penalty in the whole game.
I couldn’t care less whether it was Furlong or anyone else. I’m neutral on this. I just want consistent application of the laws and sanctions.

Wonder why you want Furlong banned so much, anything to do with an upcoming fixture ?
Murphy’s immediate reaction can be considered, but punching someone doesn’t prove a grab, just as Coombes showing more restraint doesn’t disprove one. Players shouldn’t have to lash out for their allegations to be taken seriously. Assess the evidence using the same standard.

There was a complete difference in reaction though. Murphy completely lost his head immediately began shouting the accusation and ended up punching him.

The kids literally were the gems for Stormers. Ahmed, Muller, Pead, Reid, Riley & Zack all showed the seniors what showing up is supposed to look like.
Yaqeen Ahmed, let him loose, set him free, I hand my rugby joy over to these youngsters. There is an explosion of them on our rugby scene.
Markus Muller, workrate of the charts, his GPS readings off the charts. We remember him for the flash, he came with the grind.
Zekhethelo Siyaya, last two games, out of this world, been taken out of his comfort zone, away from home, those feet keep on moving. I am at the point where I think it will be a shock if he is not in a Bok squad. I am normally cautious with the young but this on is very special. Maybe I am alone. We will see what Erasmus & Co think.
These three were at school a year ago. What are they feeding them at school these days?
You’ve missed my point. The Wessels case showed that conclusive video evidence isn’t required. Coombes’ account and Furlong’s can be assessed on the balance of probabilities, just as Murphy’s and Wessels’ were.

Is your position that video footage of a hand in the groin area is conclusive evidence?
Who you support is irrelevant. It’s about precedent and applying the laws and sanctions consistently. Wessels got eight weeks on the balance of probabilities, without conclusive video evidence, with Murphy’s word against his. You can’t set that precedent and then tell everyone to “move on” when there’s footage of another alleged grab.

Munster supporter here. Did he grab his undercarriage, yes. Was it malicious, calculated and intended to hurt, no. Was he playing rugby and cleaning out the ruck, yes! Move on. The whinging by everyone is exhausting.
Chalyn probably goes to sleep every night wondering what he can post about South African rugby and how he can insert himself into the conversation. And what life would be like if NZ rugby were as interesting and fulfilling as South African rugby.
Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu probably goes to sleep every night wondering what he could achieve if he’d been born in France or New Zealand. The South African style of rugby just doesn’t suit his game. Put him in an All Blacks or French jersey, and he’d be a genuine World Rugby Player of the Year contender. What a player. Unfortunately in the wrong team for his talents.

This is the incident involving the alleged groin grab, not the other two clips doing the rounds. Anything less than an eight-week ban for Furlong would be a disgrace and show bias in the treatment of Jan-Hendrik Wessels.
