The Bushmaster Trophy goes home with Mesa for the 5th straight year! Spanning 6 decades Mesa v Westwood represents the oldest rivalry in the city of Mesa. The trophy is named in honor of the 158th Infantry Regiment of the Az National Guard, famously named the “Bushmasters” by General Douglas MacArthur during WWII for their elite jungle warfare operations in the Pacific. #CarryOn #WeGotYour6 @Jackrabbits2026 @Cardiel70

Great morning! Cemetery cleanup with Mark & Brian Ishikawa. Their uncle Zedo delivered one of the one of the most enduring messages in AZ HS history. On the night before Mesa’s biggest football game of the season against Gilbert High, Ishikawa was mortally wounded in a backyard gun accident while trying to stop a dog fight. As he lay dying, he told his father to tell the coach & the team: “Go ahead and play the game tomorrow. Tell the boys to carry on…” #CarryOn @Jackrabbits2026
