Does the 2026 Topps Chrome Carlos Correa true black refractor /10 even exist? I’ve looked every day since the release and have yet to see one pop up to finish my true rainbow refractors! @Topps @CardPurchaser
Honestly the more stuff like this that keeps coming out the more I think it’s an absolute miracle the Astros don’t completely suck.
Why is everyone saying our pitching coaches sucked?
Lambert was made into a star. Wesneski is better than he was in Chicago. Blubaugh blossomed. Pecko developed well. Brown regressed a little, but that just happens sometimes.
The off-season additions frankly weren’t great pitchers before we got them. You can’t expect everyone to magically become better. Just need to hit on some, and the Astros seem to do a great job developing cheaper guys without big tools into serviceable big leaguers.
They can’t control injuries or free agent signings.
What if we just make things that work when you plug them in and have buttons instead of putting software and chips in every single damn thing
Hackers broke into hundreds of French supermarkets overnight and turned the freezers into heaters. 122 degrees for six hours while everyone slept. Some stores caught fire. Monday morning, workers walked in and threw out everything, the meat, the dairy, the entire frozen aisle.
Around 150 Intermarché stores got hit. Close to 100 Coopérative U locations, 80 Carrefours, plus some Monoprix and Leclerc stores. The Paris prosecutor opened an investigation and called it unprecedented.
Now here's the part that got me.
The method was dead simple. Commercial fridges have a built-in defrost mode, a heating cycle that maintenance crews use to melt ice off the coils. The hackers just triggered it remotely across hundreds of stores at once and let it run all night. The equipment did exactly what it was designed to do.
And people saw this coming. In August, researchers at Claroty published security flaws in Danfoss refrigeration controllers, the exact hardware these stores run. Danfoss told Reuters the hacked units were on outdated firmware. So the warning sat there for two months. Go back further and it gets worse. In 2019, researchers found thousands of internet-connected industrial fridges that anyone could defrost using the default password printed in the manufacturer's own manual. Hundreds of them were sitting right there on Shodan, which is basically Google for unsecured devices.
Why does this keep happening? Because a fridge controller gets installed once and runs for 15 years. The IT budget goes to the payment systems, since that's where the audits look. Nobody assigns an engineer to patch the dairy aisle.
What worries me most is there was no ransom note. Somebody just wanted to wreck a country's food supply for a night, and they pulled it off with a maintenance feature. Every connected compressor, pump, and valve out there works the same way, and most of them haven't been touched since the building went up.
Whether he’s the right fit for the Astros or not, this would 100% hurt the Astros as he is a MUCH better manager than the Mariners have had since we joined the division.
