Una nueva amenaza informática pone bajo presión a millones de páginas web que utilizan WordPress, una plataforma presente en aproximadamente el 39,5 % de los sitios de internet. Ciberdelincuentes ya están explotando una vulnerabilidad crítica durante el proceso de actualización del sistema, según confirmó la agencia estadounidense CISA.
La falla permite que atacantes sin una cuenta de usuario ejecuten código en servidores vulnerables aprovechando una breve ventana que se abre mientras se instalan las actualizaciones. Si consiguen explotarla, podrían acceder a los sistemas, modificar páginas, instalar herramientas maliciosas o comprometer información almacenada.
La vulnerabilidad fue identificada como CVE-2026-119977 y afecta a versiones anteriores a los parches de seguridad publicados por WordPress. La versión 7.1.4 incluye la corrección, por lo que los administradores deben actualizar sus sitios y comprobar que no hayan sido comprometidos. No significa que todos los sitios que utilizan WordPress estén infectados, pero sí que existe una amenaza activa para las instalaciones vulnerables.

Just a day ago, Japan’s Government announced that it is Considering Mandatory Shutdowns in Cyberattack Response. The day followed with banking systems going dark.

Interestingly, Japan has been preparing for the digital asset infrastructure using blockchain. The country which was once not so crypto friendly suddenly passed their version of Clarity Act before the U.S.
