ALT Convention Center Station in downtown St Louis under construction in 1991. The freight tunnels have been cut away and you can see the platform in walls being built, and the ground grated for tracks. The unfinished platforms are exposed to the open air, the roof has not been put on the station yet.
ALT The Forest Park Avenue subway tunnel under construction in University City Missouri, an inner ring suburb of St Louis. This was also constructed cut and cover, and in this photo you can see lots of heavy machinery in a long trench for construction for the tunnel is ongoing, they are building the walls, but it doesn't look like a tunnel yet. It is also open to the elements. This section of tunnel was pushed underground due to local opposition to trains running on the street.
ALT The roof of the tunnel has been laid, it is now enclosed and concrete is being poured over top of it. The trenches still visible, but it looks like a tunnel now.
