Imagine, if you will, an ad so successful it has to be pulled after 24 hours following a global backlash.
It’s also worth pointing out that the advertisement has you all talking about the advertisement which is exactly what a successful advertisement is supposed to do.

Fine Gael have overseen the largest escalation in elder abuse in the history of the Irish State This new ad, demanding that elderly relatives seek consent to show affection to their grandchildren, is part of a wider programme of dehumanisation of the elderly that is designed to normalise Euthanasia/Assisted Suicide
Embarrassed for all the people that think that this is a literal rather than a figurative message…and have forgotten that advertising creativity is a thing. Oh yes…and also to state the obvious - advertising does work.

🚨 IRELAND 🇮🇪 Bishop Alphonsus Cullinan has CONDEMNED the country's growing problems with drugs and violent crime Bishop Cullinan was speaking at the funeral of two parents and their children who were murdered in a drug related incident Under Fianna Fail/Fine Gael, Ireland has become the 4th biggest user of cocaine per capita in the world The bishop said: 'As a country we have not really faced up to this problem and it is a fact that in every city, town, village and townland harmful drugs are available. Up and down this dear land, people are turning to drugs. Young lives and the lives of the not-so-young are being destroyed by drugs, and those who work behind the scenes need to see the consequences of their dark trade and atone for their sin. Pope Francis often said that ‘everything is connected’ and anyone who deals in drugs is contributing to a deadly darkness. Anyone in Ireland who thinks that there is no harm in taking a line of cocaine on the weekend is utterly mistaken and is also feeding this evil machine The use of drugs is a choice and a physical and spiritual problem. The human spirit seeks to be filled by love and meaning. Many people look in the wrong places. I do not come to judge. I ask you all to join with me in saying this must stop. We must see what is happening to our country and our communities. If the demand for drugs dries up then the supply disappears. Please join with me in proclaiming that there is another way to live, a better way to live'

The persecution of Christians in India is horrific.
Location: Konta, Sukma, Chhattisgarh Date: October 13 Hindu nationalist supporters barged into a Christian missionary school, accusing the institution of exposing Hindu students to Christian teachings as a means of religious conversion. They demanded changes to the school’s dress code and prayer practices during the nine days of Navratri, arguing that Hindu students should not be exposed to Christian religious practices or indoctrinated into Christianity.

Exciting day for the Irish church
Fascinating day yesterday at Mullingar Cathedral for the closure of the diocesan case into the cause for sainthood of Fr Willie Doyle, the WW1 priest, who was killed at the Battle of Passchendaele in 1917. Here is @jshocds taking an oath to transmit the 11 volumes of material, all shown on the altar in this video, to Rome to the Dicastery of Saints for consideration. You don't have to be a believer to take inspiration from the life of a man who was the personification of selflessness and self-sacrifice. He truly was a remarkable man @FrWillieDoyle
