🚛Cutting in front of a car might save you five seconds.Cutting in front of a fully-loaded HGV could cost someone their life.56–60mph:A car needs around 73 metres to stop.A 44-tonne truck needs well over double that it’s braking space!

This was my week last week, photos by me and joint enforcement Partnership working👏 @SaferEssexRoads @ChelmsCouncil @EssexPoliceUK
Last week, we joined pupils from three primary schools for speed watch sessions. With Year 5 children helping to speak directly to drivers, we saw first-hand the impact of these conversations: Drivers told us that speaking to the children made the dangers of speeding feel more real and reminded them of the importance of concentration behind the wheel. This is why we do it. Every conversation brings us closer to Vision Zero- eliminating deaths and serious injuries on Essex roads by 2040. Read the results here: saferessexroads.org/the-serp…

1 very happy Cathy, enjoying working closely alongside other partnerships striving to keep our essex school children safe on our roads. 10 years volunteering within 2 emergency services whilst raising my disabled son alone, the experience has given me this amazing opportunity🙂

Teamwork👏
In promoting #NationalVolunteerWeek I was able to assist with a drugs warrant in #Witham in my volunteer Community Special role. Following this, I continued to patrol with another volunteer Special Constable with foot patrols, engagement & visibility #CouldYou #YouSaidWeDid
