東京ゲームショウ、最後の出展日も無事に終えることができました！ 台風の影響により、残念ながら月曜日は出展することができなくなってしまいましたが、この数日間は私たちにとって本当に貴重な経験となりました。 今回の出展では、より多くの方に『City God Alice：城隍愛麗絲』を実際に遊んでいただけただけでなく、普段ではなかなか出会うことのできない多くの方々と知り合い、交流する機会にも恵まれました。 プレイヤーの皆さん、開発者の皆さん、メディア関係者の皆さん、そしてさまざまな場所から会いに来てくださった皆さん、本当にありがとうございました！ 私たちのブースに足を運び、ゲームを試遊してくださったすべての方に心より感謝いたします。 東京で得た経験と思い出を持ち帰り、これからの開発にも活かしていきます。 本当にありがとうございました！ そして、猫宮さんにもお越しいただき、本当にありがとうございました！

《City God Alice：城隍愛麗絲》made it all the way to gamescom in Germany! I’d love to say that with pure excitement—to jump up and proudly shout about it. But deep down, I knew very well just how difficult it was to bring our game all the way to Germany. Tokyo Game Show is already expensive enough, but gamescom costs even more, especially once you add in all the local expenses. We couldn’t afford the official booth decorations, so to save money, we brought our own portable display walls all the way to Germany and set them up ourselves, piece by piece. Compared with the beautiful booths around us, ours looked incredibly simple. And honestly, we knew that before we even left. At least five people told me the same thing: “This trip is never going to make financial sense.” But to me, making games has always been a process of being a little selfish for the sake of a dream. We committed a huge budget just to exhibit there, while still having to count every single expense. We put in an enormous amount of effort, while moving forward step by step in a place where we had absolutely no home-field advantage. And what did we get in return? We got to see players from countries far away from Taiwan sitting at our booth, quietly immersed in our game. We watched complete strangers slowly experience a world that we had spent so much time creating. In the end, gaining around 500–600 wishlists may not sound particularly impressive on a stage as enormous as gamescom. And if we were judging the trip purely by return on investment, then no—it certainly wasn’t “worth it.” But then we saw scenes inspired by ordinary streets, temples, and everyday life in Taiwan appearing in an exhibition hall thousands of kilometers away. We saw players from different countries sitting in front of our screens, taking their time to experience them. And beyond that, we gained countless lessons that we could never have learned without actually making this trip ourselves. I may never spend this much money to come here a second time. But I still believe this trip was absolutely worth it. Because there are some things more valuable than numbers: experiencing something for the first time, and gaining the kind of experience that can only come from actually doing it. A huge thank you to the Island Translation team for taking our game so far away from home with such limited resources. That’s enough reflection for today. Because very soon, I’ll once again become a one-man army and personally bring 《City God Alice：城隍愛麗絲》 to Tokyo Game Show. And after that, I want to write one long article about all of it— the things that were worth the money, the things that were fun, the things I regretted, the surprises, the disappointments, and everything we learned along the way. #gamescom
