Went to a nearby taqueria for lunch today with coworkers. Had a fantastic torta loaded with discada, jamon, and a griddled hot dog. Can’t say the name of the torta on here, the name is not family friendly. 😂

I’m just a man, sitting here, asking every single one of you to stop utilizing this lettering style in all of your ads and flyers. Please. It hurts.

This is the Oxyrhynchus Hymn, dated to the late 200s AD. It is the earliest known Christian hymn manuscript with both lyrics and musical notation. A plain English rendering of the surviving words: “Let all creation be silent. Let the shining stars be still. Let the rushing winds and rivers cease. While we sing to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, let every power answer: Amen, amen. Strength, praise, and glory forever to God, the only giver of all good things. Amen, amen.”

I love having a local eatery that can be relied upon to always hit the spot. The Mexican joint just down the street from the house has been my favorite place for breakfast tacos and warm chips and salsa verde for ages now. In recent years they’ve had to add a small charge for endless chips, but it’s so worth it when you get quality food and service in return. Support local businesses, y’all.

Bend, Oregon man who shot and killed a shooter at his daughters' school speaks out, praises female teacher for fighting the shooter, allowing him to have a clear shot. Kaylub Giamanco says he is haunted by the sound of children pleading for their lives. He also praised the teacher for grabbing the gunman's weapon, allowing him to take a shot at the shooter. "I want to recognize [the teacher]. She gave me the opportunity to make my shot without losing my life..." "I swung the door open, and I stepped in, and I fired, and they dropped to the ground... I looked down at the gunman, and he was scrambling for his weapon. And I looked at him, and I shot him 2 more times..."

Update: A coworker kindly gave me her Chick-fil-A cold brew because they made it wrong. So now I have caffeine to at least survive a couple more hours. 😂
Y’all, I would really appreciate your prayers for more energy and a little less stress. Dad life has been significantly busier than usual lately. Up at 4:00 every morning to make sure the girls’ lunches are made and they get up early enough to get dressed and do hair/makeup/etc. before I need to go out the door at 6:00, then not getting to bed until midnight because of evening activities, late dinners, helping with homework, all that jazz. Between all that and work, I am running on fumes. I am beyond blessed in so many ways to have my beautiful daughters, but man, I’m so exhausted.

It's a beautiful day for a FOIA Request to the USPS. Reasons for the request include: "This mailer was addressed to my minor children, ages 10, 12, and 14. I have a right to know who is targeting my children with political, sexual, and ideological propaganda, encouraging them to 'emancipate' and find a new 'found family.'" Presumably every journalist worth their salt has already done this, so I'm probably late to the game, but I'll let you know what I learn.

This is what the opposition doesn’t get. We’re against the manipulation, abuse, sexual objectification, and mutilation of children. Don’t care what the perp claims to believe politically. Don’t care who they are. Stay away from our kids. THE END.
Replying to @JennMGreenberg
Targeting children is wrong. Republicans shouldn’t do that.

This is horrible and heartbreaking. Praying for his health.
The NFL and the Philadelphia Eagles almost killed Jalen Hurts for a Week 5 international showcase. The full details of what happened behind closed doors in London just surfaced, and the negligence is staggering. Before kickoff in London, Hurts was in a hospital bed until 4:00 AM undergoing emergency vascular testing. Medical staff instructed him not to sleep because sleep was considered an active health risk. Instead of shutting down their $255 million franchise quarterback, the team cleared him to play 60 minutes of brutal, high-impact collision football on zero sleep. Then, they loaded him onto a pressurized, 8-hour transatlantic flight back to Philadelphia. Every doctor on the planet knows that long-haul flights and cabin pressure are the exact triggers that cause lower-extremity blood clots to break free. The Eagles spent days assuring the public it was just a "minor, superficial calf clot". Now the truth comes out: the clot dislodged, shot through his bloodstream, and caused multiple pulmonary emboli in his lungs. Hurts is officially out for the season, placed on blood thinners where taking a single routine tackle could cause a fatal internal hemorrhage. He isn't just lucky to play football again, he is lucky to be alive. When the NFL preaches "player safety," remember this moment. They ran a human being into the ground for television ratings in the UK, almost lost him to a preventable medical catastrophe, and cratered their entire season in the process. Who inside that building signed off on letting him play and board that flight?
