Our Emergency Departments remain extremely busy.
As ever, the NHS is here for you and we urge anyone with health concerns to continue to come forward for care.
Please help us to help you by accessing the right NHS care you need – you can do this by calling NHS 111 or visiting 111.nhs.uk/ for urgent health advice.
NHS 111 can help you find the best place for your care – this could be a pharmacy, GP, urgent treatment centre, or A&E.
If it's an emergency, call 999 and ask for an ambulance.

Norovirus is a stomach bug that causes diarrhoea and vomiting. It can be very unpleasant, but usually goes away in about 2 days.
If you catch it; stay home, rest and have plenty of fluids.

As more and more indicators of a system under immense pressure are revealed @RCEMpresident spoke to @NickFerrariLBC on @LBC this morning.

“I can’t believe this isn’t a political priority at the moment.”
Speaking to @NickFerrariLBC, Dr Adrian Boyle emphasises the need for the government to address the ‘untenable’ state of A&E departments.

"The message for hospital managers and policy makers is clear. High turnover of nurses and doctors suggests a potential risk for patients. Therefore, retention of healthcare staff should be a priority to improve continuity and quality of care."

Our Emergency Departments are always busy, and our teams manage this really well but there are long waits at the moment. If you are not seriously ill, our hospitals may not be the best place for you to get the treatment you need.
For people who need immediate medical help where it isn’t an emergency, NHS 111 is available on the phone and online 24 hours-a-day, seven days-a-week.
Minor injury units or walk-in centres can help with injuries or illnesses where people cannot get a GP appointment or it’s not an emergency.
Local pharmacists can also give advice on illnesses and the medicines needed to treat them.

Grim, but alas unsurprising.
Patient need in deprived areas is greater, but #generalpractice in the poorest areas of England is under-funded and under-doctored relative to the richest areas. Little wonder that access is harder, and people turn elsewhere

Replying to @TheKingsFund
We find that 30% of people living in the most deprived areas have turned to 999, 111, A&E or a walk-in centre because they were unable to access a GP appointment, compared to just 10% of people in the least deprived areas.

Fantastic news. It will be interesting to know who the sites are & whether £160m will be enough? I'm assuming alongside children specialist units it will be cancer centres...
