ALT How does it work? One for One mandates that for every euro that banks and insurers want to invest into fossil fuel projects, they must have one euro of actual capital. This means they would have to cover 100% of any potential losses themselves, rather than relying on governments bailouts - in other words, our public money.Through this financial regulation European investors would be obliged to acknowledge the true human and environmental costs of fossil fuel investments, making them economically unprofitable.
