IF WE LOSE THE MIDTERMS, THE BLAME LANDS SQUARELY ON SENATOR JOHN THUNE AND HIS WORTHLESS COHORTS If the Republican Party loses the Senate in these midterms, do not come to me with excuses about “the map,” “turnout,” or “messaging.” The blood is on the hands of Majority Leader John Thune and the feckless cohort that has followed him. The most worthless Republican Senate in my 69 years of life! You had the majority. You had the White House. You had a clear mandate from the American people who delivered Donald Trump back to the Oval Office and expected you to "govern like it mattered". Instead, you treated the Senate like a part-time job and a retirement home for weak men. You adjourned early. You packed up and went home while unfinished business sat on the floor permitting reform, the defense authorization, FISA reauthorization, and every other priority that actually moves the needle for the country. You chose campaign travel and comfortable silence over the hard work of passing legislation while you still controlled the chamber. That was not strategy. That was surrender dressed up as “state work period.” AND YOU DID NOT PASS THE SAVE AMERICA ACT John Thune, you are Majority Leader in name only. You have presided over a Senate that moves at the speed of fear. Every time the base demanded action real border enforcement, energy dominance, ending the administrative state, protecting election integrity you offered process, delay, and the same tired song that “we’re working on it.” Working on it while the clock ran out is not leadership. It is malpractice. Your “cohorts” share the blame. The ones who talk tough on Fox and then vanish when the vote is hard. The ones who measure success by how little controversy they generate rather than how much they actually deliver. The ones who treat the base like an ATM and a volunteer army, then disappear the moment the cameras turn off. You had one job: use the majority you were given. You chose not to. If we lose, it will not be because the American people suddenly fell in love with the other side. It will be because you failed to give them a reason to fight for "you". You left the field empty. You left the agenda unfinished. You left the base looking at a Senate that could not even stay in session long enough to finish the work it claimed was urgent. So hear this clearly: if the Senate flips, the responsibility does not rest with the voters, the candidates on the ground, or the President who already did his part. It rests with John Thune and every senator who enabled this empty, risk-averse, do-nothing majority. You will own the loss. Own it loudly. And do not expect the people who warned you the ones who have been screaming for action while you scheduled another recess to pretend otherwise. The midterms are not over yet. But if they go the wrong way, history will record that the Republican Senate majority under John Thune chose comfort over combat, and paid for it with the chamber.
