Why does every Grok @bot post lately seem like a sales pitch for a meme coin?

Wow! What is the source of Russiophobia?
Why did the Bristish come to hate Russia?

Grok @bot helped me finish something I've been putting off - updating a document for my wife with all of my current accounts, balances, due dates, expiration dates, etc. Life insurance, mortgage, cars, assets, etc. etc. Grok pulled it all into a nicely formatted, easy to read document for her - very helpful in case I pass from this life unexpectedly.

Grok Bot helped me speed up my home wifi:
"You've gone from about 93 Mbps to 603 Mbps on Wi-Fi, more than six times faster, and latency dropped from about 17 ms to 9. 603 is in the normal range for Wi-Fi on an 800 Mbps plan. Wired devices should get close to the full 800. Run a test in one of the rooms that was slow before to confirm the improvement reaches the rest of the house."

UK Preparing for War As Soon As November - Look, I am warning our European readers: Brussels is desperate. They are scared to death of the AfD in Germany and of Marine Le Pen in France, who is at about 46% in the polls at this time for the April 2027 election. zurl.co/2nMCL

A Pilgrim visiting a monk's cell:
"Where is all your furniture?"
Monk: "Where's yours?"
Pilgrim: "Mine? I am just visiting."
Monk: "So am I."
When Helping Hurts
There is a mountain of unworn clothes in the driest desert on earth, large enough to be photographed from space. It grows by 39,000 tons a year and almost none of it will ever rot.
The Atacama, in northern Chile, is a place where it may not rain for a decade. On its edge is a duty-free port called Iquique. Every year about 59,000 tons of clothing arrives there from Europe, America and Asia. It is last season's stock that never sold, and the bags people leave at charity shops.
Dealers pick through it for anything they can resell across South America. Two thirds of it is worthless. Nobody will pay to ship it back out, so lorries drive it into the desert at night and tip it.
The local landfill refuses to take it. The reason given is that the clothing does not biodegrade and is full of chemicals. Most of it is polyester, which is plastic, and in a place with no rain and no soil life it will lie there for centuries. Some of it is set alight, and the smoke drifts over a town of 100,000 people.
In 2025 a Chilean court ruled that the dumps had done serious damage to the land.
For most of history this could not have happened. Clothes were wool, linen and leather. They were worn out, handed down and patched, and at the very end a rag merchant paid for the scraps. In Yorkshire, from 1813, old woollens were shredded and spun into new cloth. Anything left went on the fields, where wool breaks down in months and feeds the grass.
Nobody ever had to find a desert for worn-out wool. We invented a fabric that cannot die, and then we started making it to be thrown away.
My latest mixed-media piece. It's 10" x 20" on wood cradle board panel.
I know no one will ever see it on here, but if you do and want to see more, check out my website. I used to do mainly watercolors, but recently started branching out into mixed media.

I'm using Grok @bot to help me set up my website to sell fine art prints. Along the way, it notified me of this:
"I found a real security hole in the FinerWorks plugin. As installed, anyone on the internet could pull your customers' names, addresses and emails, change product prices, or switch the store to a different FinerWorks account. I'm adding a small fix to your site that only lets FinerWorks and you use those features. If anything goes wrong, it can be switched off with one click."

They are going for it. This will be used as cover for the sovereign debt crisis. Bond yields are rising. Scott Bessent is unable to tamp down the long end of the yield curve.
In 2019 there was a repo crisis which rolled into Covid-19. They are winding up that same government/media machine again.
Irkutsk, Russia: The U.S. Embassy is aware of press reports from the Irkutsk region of suspected pneumonic plague resulting in the death of an individual and of associated quarantine measures in, and closures of, hospitals in Irkutsk. We continue to track the situation closely. The U.S. government has limited ability to help U.S. citizens in Russia, especially outside of Moscow. The State Department’s Level 4 Travel Advisory (Do Not Travel) for Russia remains in place and states U.S. citizens currently in Russia should depart immediately. U.S. citizens planning travel to Russia are again strongly advised not to travel to Russia due to risk of wrongful detention and security concerns. More at: ru.usembassy.gov/health-aler…
