Can we take a moment to admire the extraordinary attention to detail in the costuming for #WolfHall from the incredible designer Joanna Eatwell? A flawless interpretation of Jane Seymour’s bonnet and gown from the Whitehall Mural 🙌

If I had to distill the top 3 myths being aired again & again to block a conversation on reparations it would be these: Myth 1: That Britain abolished slavery around the world. Fact: Britain’s limited abolition was accompanied by the continued coercion of Black & Brown people to supply unpaid labour across the Empire.

Lovely to see museums getting on board with allowing direct access to their entire collections. Hoping they've looked for best practice in how archive services have done this for decades....

I’ve always loved this mysterious picture attributed to Cornelis Bisschop. An open door, a woman’s discarded jacket and shoes, and a painting-within-a-painting make up the suggestive elements of the scene, like a genre picture evacuated of its protagonists.

Looking forward to this next session at #ARA2024 - how climate scientists and archivists are working together to understand how climate is changing. We only know about this change, demonstrably, through reliable records.

What do people leave behind in library books? Our shelvers have displayed items our library users have left on the wall of the Returns Room, Main Library. This room is open to library staff only, so we thought we'd give you a sneak peek at their exhibition.
