A pirate in a Max Headroom mask, and nobody has ever figured out who. On a November night in 1987 they briefly hijacked Chicago's WGN, then broke into WTTW during an episode of Doctor Who later that night. Engineers who studied it believed it took real broadcast expertise to pull off. The FCC investigated, but the hijackers were never identified or charged. I hope it stays unsolved. The mystery is the whole appeal.
