I know politics are a dirty game and there's rarely innocent people in it, but there's no version of this where supporting white supremacist political parties is the answer. Asoze

How have white people across the globe managed to maintain such good PR despite being mass murderers and criminals?🫠

These elections were proof of how much we need to prioritize literacy, especially media literacy and bring back Black Consciousness. We can't go on like this

“The old South Africa is gone” yet 1994 kicked off as a coalition. This is what happens when you don’t read.

Helen Zille is not entitled to mayorship in Joburg. Her party had to win 50 plus 1 for her to be guaranteed. They didn't and there's nothing wrong if the other parties exclude her from the coalition.

A gripe: I’ve seen several commentators (Dan Corder, others as well), saying something to the effect that SA is *now* more democratic because the ANC is no longer electorally dominant. SA has been democratic since 1994 & this is not contingent on the level of ANC support. 🤷🏻♂️
I think for the next four years someone needs to do an SA version of " i never thought the leopards would eat my face" for DA led metros.all you who went FAFO for DA , ...actually it has already started

Goodness this is quite unfortunate a tweet. South Africans were exercising democracy when they voted for the ANC, just as they exercise it when they vote for other parties.
Those were the choices of millions of citizens. Describing them as a “monopoly” diminishes the agency of the electorate.
The language of an “old” South Africa departing and a “new” one emerging is also deeply uncomfortable in a country with our history, especially from you as a white man. Applied to the decline of a liberation movement’s electoral support, it carries racial undertones…the suggestion that the choices of a predominantly black electorate were something the country needed to outgrow before democracy could truly flourish.
Celebrate greater political competition, Dan. Demand accountability from the ANC and every other party. But democracy did not begin when the ANC lost its majority, and the ANC’s electoral decline should not be confused with South Africa’s liberation.
Our democracy belongs equally to those who vote ANC and those who don’t. Its legitimacy cannot depend on whose political preferences prevail.

“Without her Jhb dies” 😂😂😂😂 A city 140 years old dies if we don’t vote for a party that’s failed to address apartheid spatial planning in the Western Cape. Whose leader thinks said planning is “propaganda” and had to be schooled by the ConCourt. Inganekwane.

The fact that you have to play these on repeat to find some SA cinematic flair informs you that the industry has stagnated, no new voices , no new stories , all we have is a mandate for mass production , Spanish telenovela copies , and no unique selling value which made SA cinema
