Noah, let's keep this simple. In Toronto, land acknowledgements open City Council meetings, school days, sporting events and concerts, over and over, every week. Nobody argues they diminish anyone else's ties to their place. I offered probably the first one ever for the Jewish people's connection to the Land of Israel. It took nothing from First Nations. You say ancestral connection to land matters. So what is the one difference here that bothers you?

Macron just banned all non-union protests and authorities in Lyon, Nice, and Toulon have imposed a total protest ban. These rulers know nothing about their own people. Telling the French they can’t protest will backfire spectacularly. Expect a massive turnout this weekend. Vive la revolution!

I've generally avoided commenting on the municipal race in Toronto, but this claim touches a nerve. Bradford's approach is pretty much the opposite of financially reasonable, taking a tight budgetary situation and dramatically worsening it on both the expenditure & revenue sides.

CBC News is reporting that the explosion at CFB Wainwright killed 7 people. That's one more than were killed in 1974 at CFB Val Cartier when 6 cadets were killed in a grenade mishap (which DND tried to then cover up.)
