Children averaging 5,000 to more than 12,000 steps per day day had fewer mental health symptoms than those taking less than 5,000.
Mental health symptoms were progressively lower across higher step counts with no apparent plateau, even at 12,000+ steps per day.
Brain scans also linked higher step counts to greater thickness in two specific regions of the cortex, the brain’s outer layer.
Daily movement deserves much more attention as a potential way to support kids’ mental health. That's especially clear when you consider that modern-day digital and urban environments provide little opportunity for movement throughout the day.
This Instinct use case is a huge time saver and should significantly reduce the parking tickets I get
Loved using FSQ for 10+ years (and still use Swarm!). Very sad that such an iconic product of the early social web ends like this.
Foursquare was acquired last month. The outcome was disappointing. It's taken me a while to write this, but I think I'm finally done grieving it. Here are some thoughts on our final years, an effort to honor the team who helped build & maintain FSQ's legacy, and my attempt to finally get some closure. teendrama.substack.com/p/som…

I love everything you’ve created for this world. But this is none of your fuckin business.

My 5yo has a knack for remembering and asking about song lyrics.
RIP listening to hip-hop in the car or anywhere close to him.

This reminds me of Steve Jobs' advice to a former Nike CEO: "Nike makes some of the best products in the world. Products that you lust after. But you also make a lot of crap. Just get rid of the crappy stuff and focus on the good stuff". Can apply the same to Omega.
Speaking of Omega releases, for the love of christ, WHY IS THERE 93 DIFFERENT FUCKING VERSIONS OF A SPEEDMASTER, just WHY???
I was searching for a speedy I like, because I wanted to show the watch to a friend, and goddamn there's 93 different speedmasters...
This is worse than I ever thought it was, OMEGA WHAT IS UUU DOING????
I don't think Rolex has half the amount Omega (for some reason has)
Got 2 quotes for a small house reno job: $17,500 and $2,000. We went with the cheapest option, expecting it would be 2-3x more at the end. It ended up costing $2,100 and was perfectly executed. What a wild market.
Clearly inspired by Bernie Ecclestone
EXCLUSIVE: Fifa's president Gianni Infantino is planning to sell stakes in the World Cup to private investors under a scheme that could potentially earn him tens of millions of pounds.
Investor discussions held with figures close to the Trump administration, say sources.

I enjoyed listening to this almost as much as I hate trying to get a res at Carbone
Jeff Zalaznick is co-founder of Major Food Group — the company behind Carbone, ZZ's, Torrisi, The Grill, The Pool, and dozens of the best restaurants in the world.
He's started 77 restaurants and bars, and 76 are still open and profitable.
We recorded this inside The Pool, one of the most historic restaurants in America.
Jeff has been obsessed with restaurants since he was a kid, and that obsession runs through everything he's built.
