I freak out when I see JavaScripts. (regardless of the capitalization.) I'm imagining countless tiny JavaScript dragons 🐉 who could be doing almost anything; run for your lives!
I don't know who needs to hear this right now, but if you're switching to work on something else that's better than no break but it's not actually rest
Let’s say you have a small group of remote coworkers hopping on after hours to run a script.
How do you make this fun?
In-office days, I might’ve brought in cookies or fidget toys. But I’m struggling to come up with an equivalent.
What do you call it when you see me as a contributor to a file, but on git blame I’m only responsible for blank lines 😆

My message to early-career women in tech is:
Get power, influence, $$$. Become formidable.
Don't wait for the industry to be less hostile. These dudes are everywhere. Most are WILDLY ineffective, easy to leave in the dust.
Build a staff of people you trust, forget the rest.
I’ve never understood why people wait to write tests until after work is done. Half the value is lost by not having the tests to verify code as you write it. Somehow, here we are, as an industry, debating this again 😆
Under lessons learned in a self-assessment, my software mentee listed “I learned that when my code fails, it’s not me failing”. 😭🥰
For the folks on the “software is an art not a profession” train, let me tell you arts are professions too
One of those times AI is accidentally correct. Amazon trying to get me in trouble. I have enough cats LOL
(photo of an Amazon Show device which reads: “Based on your order history, it may be time to reorder Cat. If you need more, just say...”)
Oh yeah I say rim raff. Dub-dub-dub-dot (www.) and for-slash or back-slash. Sue doe (sudo) and kurtle (ctrl). If this is weird I don’t want to be normal

1/ Alright the people have spoken and they want more cat genetics. So, I present to you all "Cat Coat Genetics 101: A Tweetorial", feat. pics of many real life cats (for science, of course...this baby is Caterpillar).
*me waking up* sees cats sleeping on my legs. slowly, carefully extracts legs from the covers to avoid disturbing cats. stands by the bed for a moment to see peacefully sleeping, undisturbed cats
takes 2 steps toward the bathroom. turns back around:
one cat is now stretched out in my spot
the other cat jumps off the bed and dashes ahead of me toward the bathroom

I high key love that Star Trek chose to respond to the idea that "in the future disability will be erased" with "in the future disability will be accommodated for without stigma"

Nobody but you will lobby you to block out whole afternoons, to learn a new skill or write a new chapter.
Nobody but you is looking out for badass future you. Nobody knows all that you juggle when they make a request. It isn't their job. Their job is them; ✨your job is you✨ – at San Francisco, CA
