10-year-old Divith Reddy Adulla from Telangana is the National Under-15 Chess Champion 2026! Divith scored 9.5/11 points, the same as Madhesh Kumar from Puducherry, but ended up winning first place due to better tiebreaks. Divith wins a beautiful trophy and Rs. 90,000!
Divith suffered his only loss in the 5th round against Advik Amit Agrawal. His 3 clutch wins in the final 3 rounds played a huge role in him winning the tournament - he defeated Shaunak Badole in the final round!

Every position, held entirely in the mind ❤️🥳
The 4th Mind Champions Challenge, Phoenix Marketcity, Mumbai. Won by 11-year-old Ved Phaur, who took home the Samay Raina Scholarship of Rs 1 lakh.
Thank you Lions Club of Bombay Uptown, AICFB, Phoenix Marketcity, Coffee Island and Rajdhani 🙏
Aradhya Garg became an IM in 2024 and has been performing consistently in the last couple of years. His rating is 2430. But his big breakthrough has come at the Atyrau Open 2026 in Kazakhstan when the Delhi lad scored 6.0/9 - with a performance of 2625, achieved his maiden GM norm.
Aradhya managed to beat three strong GMs - Nogerbek Kazybek, Pranav Anand and Arkadij Naiditsch in the final round to achieve his GM norm. What stands out in all three games is that Aradhya dominated the game right from start until the end. With this performance he has already climbed to 2454 Elo. We are pretty sure that he will soon reach 2500 Elo and become India's next GM. Who knows maybe 100th! :)
Aradhya is not just a strong player but also very kind hearted. He loves to teach chess and often spends his time teaching kids from lesser privileged backgrounds.

It’s been one year since we lost a son, a brother, and a friend.
Danya was a beautiful and unique soul. He was a valued member of the Charlotte chess community and the global chess community, but to me, he was so much more than that. He was a part of my life. I miss the puns we would exchange, the trash talking during blitz, the political discussions, the edgy jokes, and all the random places our worlds overlapped. He was far more cultured than most people ever got to see.
There are few people I have felt such a connection with on a mental level, and him not being here will always be something missing from my life. His death left a void which will never fully be filled, but I will always remember him for the positive difference he made in my life.
We cannot bring him back, but as we move forward, we can make sure everything done in his name is done the right way: for the players, for the game, and for the community he loved and gave so much of himself to.
For today, I’m signing off with two of his 2000s favorites on repeat, Ja Rule’s “Down A** Bi**h” and Nelly’s “Dilemma” (yes, really). Maybe I’ll even play 100 games of bullet.
India's 97th Grandmaster Harshavardhan G.B. scored 7.5/9 points to share 1st place at the Fagernes International Autumn Chess Tournament (GM Group). GM Rinat Jumabayev of Kazakhstan had the best tiebreaks to take 1st place. GM Tiger Hillarp of Sweden scored second, and Harshavardhan was third. The top three prizes were €3000, €2000, and €1000, which were equally shared among the top three finishers. Photo: Anniken Vestby
