with the Bears’ bye coming right before the deadline, teams like the Chargers remaining steadfast about not being ready to trade yet, & the front office likely able to conservatively expect a 1-1 record over the next 2 weeks before the bye, us fans most likely have to be patient.

that 85% figure will certainly be interesting to track while the Vikings enter their upcoming 8-game gauntlet on their schedule. [wk 8] at DET [wk 9] vs BUF [wk 10] at GB [wk 11] vs SF [in Mexico City] [wk 12] vs ATL [wk 13] vs CAR [wk 14] at NE [wk 15] vs DET projection: 3-5

hey @adamrank — I’m sorry to cold-tag you like this, but I’m taking a shot. as a HB native, that grew up a Bears & Angels fan, I figured I’d take my shot, & see if there’s any world where you think my niche long-form writing content catches your interest, at all. I would love any constructive criticism you have to offer, if you’re so kind enough to take a few minutes during the mini-bye to give it a skim. the Texans version of “selling,” would be them finally recognizing that CJ Stroud is a huge part of the problem, maybe trade him, maybe ride out his rookie deal… but, them “selling,” would look like them shoring up the defense, doubling down on DeMeco, & shedding contracts to go for another run with a rookie QB. Stroud turning down the contract they offered this offseason, paired with the team’s current state, is the best case scenario for them, honestly. if the defense carried them further than they currently are, they’d fear losing CJ, overpay him, & have to tear down what makes the team actually have a solid foundation.

if the Bears were to somehow make it to the Super Bowl, I’m pretty confident that the only team they could lose to that may potentially reduce the depression-hangover would be the Bills. maybe the Bengals. but, if the Bears have the opportunity to win one, I’m out for blood.

if you asked a Vikings fan, they would swear that, “it’s not that bad,” & they’re average, & “just wait ‘til ‘Kyler Murray’ figures it out.”
