Congratulations to @WFLAStacie She is one of the good ones and a class act. From my time as an interim Chief until the day I retired she has always remained a pro. Bravo!
Street cred is earned not given. Way to work @BobBuckhorn

On this day in 2009, while patrolling a neighborhood that had experienced an uptick in burglaries, Corporal Michael Roberts noticed a suspicious person with a shopping cart full of items. Shortly after initiating a stop, the suspect began fighting with Corporal Roberts and fired one shot. The shot hit Corporal Roberts where he was not covered by the bulletproof vest. Following the incident, Corporal Roberts was transferred to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injury.
Corporal Roberts, your service will never be forgotten. We honor you today and always.

Looking back on the first half of the year, we couldn’t be prouder of the Verizon Frontline Crisis Response Team and their unwavering commitment to keeping first responders connected.
See how they’re always rising to the challenge, no matter the mission: vzbiz.biz/3TquOhW
No one supports our first responders like Mayor Bob Buckhorn. He is hands down Mr First Responder I have first hand experience that he will do everything in his power to make sure our cops have what they need to keep us safe. Truth!!
Honored to earn the endorsement of the Tampa Police Benevolent Association.
Together, we reduced crime by more than 40%, invested in our officers, and built a state-of-the-art training facility. As Tampa grows, I’ll continue making sure our officers have the staffing, training, technology and support they need to keep every neighborhood safe.
Thank you to the men and women of the Tampa PBA for your trust.

A wonderful constituent sent me this just now: Sulphur Springs tower lit blue for the late Jesse Madsen of Tampa Police Department for the five year anniversary of his last heroic act.
We remember today this amazing Tampa hero. Many, many people miss him in Tampa - and many, many people admire his remarkable courage.

Tonight, the City of Tampa will be illuminated in blue to mark the five-year anniversary of the ultimate sacrifice made by Master Police Officer (MPO) Jesse Madsen. This tribute serves as a solemn reminder of MPO Madsen’s final act of bravery and a permanent commitment to honoring all Tampa Police Officers who have fallen in the line of duty.
We also hold the families of our fallen officers close in our hearts. Their stories will continue to be told, and their names will always be said, because a hero remembered is never forgotten.

Neighborhoods rally with their cops when there is strong leadership in City Hall. @BobBuckhorn is a case study for other Mayors across the country on how to be a leader. So proud that he was the leader that appointed me as our city’s Chief of Police. We need Bob Buckhorn back!
A really challenging and tragic chapter in our city’s history but out of that horror I saw our city and the neighborhoods that were affected stand together like never before. In that darkness there was light. Thanks @FOX13News for covering. fox13news.com/news/the-murde…

Run the race that God has mapped for you, & don’t lose sight of the finish line comparing yourself to others. It’s impossible to run with purpose in someone else’s lane, & other runners can’t control your pace. There’s no podium for medals in real life. Either you finish your race or you don’t. You determine whether you win or lose.
