As an alumna, I am shocked to see this @UniofOxford. This is clear-cut harassment. Female students should not be exposed to this in lectures or tutorials. It's unprofessional (at best). Please let us know you will take steps to ensure female students are not subjected to this.
“We expect everyone involved in teaching to maintain appropriate professional standards and to treat students with respect.”
That was Oxford University's response when [Un]Captured asked about a male tutor wearing giant prosthetic breasts to work.
Biochemistry lecturer Matt Rattley has kicked off the autumn term with new photos wearing his infamous ‘norks’ - including one in a lecture theatre with students.
The university declined to discuss individual personnel matters.

Several people have already contacted me about the situation at Oxford University.
Their messages make clear that some women DO feel uncomfortable with a man wearing giant prosthetic breasts to work. But that raising concerns is not easy.
If you feel you have anything relevant to share, my inbox is open. All messages treated in confidence.

The Battle of Bamber Bridge, 1943.
Racist US military police attacked black US troops on British soil.
US military authorities demanded the town’s pubs impose a colour bar, the local landlords responded with signs that read “Black Troops Only” which pissed them off.

So, do they still take kid's TV off for this boring, adult Budget thing?
Any chance of Murphy's Mob, Press Gang or Into The Labyrinth being on?

Spike Milligan had great admiration for Evelyn Waugh. Once when passing White's Club in St James, Milligan saw Waugh coming out and asked for his autograph. Waugh duly scribbled on a bit of paper and handed the result to Milligan who duly thanked him and went home…

The lads on their mid term break tidied up three gardens this morning. Cut grass, cleared paths, dug out weeds and power washed outdoor spaces for older residents and young parents. 💪

The Community Note contains the truth here. But the wild thing to me is that a history teacher at my (crumbling English comp) school told me stuff like this about Mao—even having the audacity to add that Mao had *reduced* starvation—AND I BELIEVED HIM BECAUSE HE WAS A TEACHER.
Under “dictator” Mao, life expectancy in China increased by 30 years, literacy rates went from 20% to 70%, steel output grew from 1 million to 23 million tons, 47 million hectares of land was taken from landlords and given to peasants, and China was unified under a strong central state and got nuclear weapons.
Despite his failures, it does not take a rocket scientist to understand why Mao is revered in China.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Mao's Great Leap Forward and related policies caused an estimated 30-45 million famine deaths in 1959-1961 alone, with total excess deaths under his rule often estimated at 40 million or higher.

Spoiler: “it does not take a rocket scientist to understand why Mao is revered in China” because if you insult him you are disappeared, murdered or sent down a salt mine.

Remember when Antoinette Fernandez (Green Party speaker of Hackney Council) bemoaned the British bombardment of Lagos, forcing her great great maternal grandfather from power?
She forgot to mention the reason why.
And you won't hear a single peep of apology from this lot about it.
