Can’t say I was surprised by Andy’s answers about Justin Tucker… but it sure didn’t leave me feeling ANY better about that acquisition. Yikes.

The Chiefs are signing kicker Justin Tucker to the practice squad, a source tells The Star.

I've decided I'm no longer kidding. Got get Raimann and Downs as a package, shift Benson to RT, and let's go.
You have a fire sale and 2 players who happen to be good at areas you need help in.
Trade: The #Colts are trading 3-time Pro-Bowl DT DeForest Buckner back to the #49ers, the team that made him a 2016 first-round pick before dealing him to Indianapolis in 2020, per me and @AdamSchefter. A reunion!!
Now Buckner returns to SF, fortifying their defensive line.

“Conduct detrimental” isn’t determined by what the public knows. They want this story out but building a case isn’t determined by what we know. It’s about his actions around the team.
A possibility, the Chiefs leaking this story about Josh Simmons conduct in order to begin building a “conduct detrimental” case so they can go after his guarantees. A story like this would never see the light of day in a normal situation. That org is air tight. Then on an NFL Sunday morning it’s being reported by several key NFL media folks

This whole Josh Simmons situation has seemed strange to me since last season. I never want to question another man's medical situation, but anybody who's played this game knows there's a difference between being hurt and being injured. Playing through discomfort comes with the territory. That's just the reality of football.
I'm not saying that's his situation, but something about how all of this has unfolded just hasn't added up to me.
As far as people criticizing the local media for not breaking this story first, I think they're looking at it wrong. My suspicion is that somebody high up in the Chiefs organization intentionally leaked this to national media.
Local reporters likely had their suspicions but couldn't get confirmation, so they did what responsible journalists are supposed to do. They didn't run with an unconfirmed story.
The Chiefs don't typically operate like this, which makes the timing and who received the information even more interesting. To me, this feels less like a leak and more like a message being sent. And I don't think that part should be overlooked.

The @NFLPA has put out a statement on @JalenHurts: “The NFLPA is not aware of any NFL investigation into the medical care provided to Jalen Hurts. In fact, the league previously informed the union that it did not plan to review the care he received. Before conclusions are drawn about how this situation was handled, there must be a full investigation into what occurred. Determining the facts is essential to ensuring players receive the highest level of care and protection going forward.”

I’m told Aiden Fisher is in town and expected to sign with the Chiefs practice squad.
He was released by the Texans on Saturday and cleared waivers yesterday.

There were certainly a few yards still on the table here, but I'm seeing a lot of ire for a guy who got out of bounds in field goal range with seven seconds left and no timeouts. That's the side you'd rather err on.

KC Chiefs HOF linebacker Derrick Thomas died from a blot clot in his lungs....WHILE IN THE HOSPITAL!!
The Eagles let this man play in a damn football game with this.
People need to be fired for this. Jalen is lucky to be alive and I wish him well.
#Eagles QB Jalen Hurts, who is out for the season after several blood clots were revealed in his lungs, has been undergoing tests for days.
Before the London game, Hurts was in the hospital until 4 am and did not sleep because sleep was a risk. He played without having slept.

The WORST roughing the passer call I have ever seen on the #Chiefs, and I've been watching since 1992. Honorable mention to Chris Jones on Tom Brady in the AFC Championship game. Okay, maybe that was worse. 😂 But still, this was an egregious call, and the NFL needs to go over roughing the passer with their officials!

The NFL and the Philadelphia Eagles almost killed Jalen Hurts for a Week 5 international showcase.
The full details of what happened behind closed doors in London just surfaced, and the negligence is staggering.
Before kickoff in London, Hurts was in a hospital bed until 4:00 AM undergoing emergency vascular testing. Medical staff instructed him not to sleep because sleep was considered an active health risk.
Instead of shutting down their $255 million franchise quarterback, the team cleared him to play 60 minutes of brutal, high-impact collision football on zero sleep.
Then, they loaded him onto a pressurized, 8-hour transatlantic flight back to Philadelphia.
Every doctor on the planet knows that long-haul flights and cabin pressure are the exact triggers that cause lower-extremity blood clots to break free. The Eagles spent days assuring the public it was just a "minor, superficial calf clot".
Now the truth comes out: the clot dislodged, shot through his bloodstream, and caused multiple pulmonary emboli in his lungs.
Hurts is officially out for the season, placed on blood thinners where taking a single routine tackle could cause a fatal internal hemorrhage.
He isn't just lucky to play football again, he is lucky to be alive.
When the NFL preaches "player safety," remember this moment. They ran a human being into the ground for television ratings in the UK, almost lost him to a preventable medical catastrophe, and cratered their entire season in the process.
Who inside that building signed off on letting him play and board that flight?
