CCP-linked nonprofit networks are exploiting U.S. laws to fuel division and anger in America’s public debates. Many are primarily funded by Neville Roy Singham, a U.S. citizen living in China who has funneled hundreds of millions of dollars into U.S. advocacy groups. Last month, Chairman @RepMoolenaar and @RepJasonSmith sent a letter to @USTreasury, @SecScottBessent, and IRS CEO Frank Bisignano requesting an investigation into these organizations.

A recent Select Committee report uncovered a profound gap between @WebullGlobal's marketing as an American company and the CCP’s influence over its ownership and operations. With billions of dollars in American capital potentially exposed, these ties raise serious concerns. Americans deserve to know who controls the platforms they trust with their money. cnbc.com/2026/10/21/webull-u…

Thank you, @DeptofWar, for working with universities to address foreign relationships of concern on the Section 1286 List and protect critical research. To ensure taxpayer-funded research is not exploited by foreign adversaries and strengthen research security safeguards, Congress must pass Chairman @RepMoolenaar’s bipartisan SIRA Act.
The @DeptofWar worked collaboratively with the 30 universities to mitigate foreign relationships of concern on the Section 1286 List, protecting critical research that supports the American warfighter. The Department will continue working with Congress and academia to ensure taxpayer funded research is not exploited by foreign entities against the United States.

The Coast Guard has ordered an immediate review of Chinese state-owned COSCO vessels’ eligibility for a program that reduces port inspections, @Politico reports. This action comes after Chairman @RepMoolenaar, @RepRickCrawford, and @RepCarlos sent a letter to @DHSGov raising these concerns. Granting a Chinese military company fewer inspections at American ports should not be allowed. Thank you @DHSGov for taking action.

Following the wrongful detention of U.S. citizens Youlin Chen and Min Zin, the @StateDept is raising the risk level for wrongful detention in its travel advisory for China. This is a serious warning to all Americans. The CCP has demonstrated that it will use arbitrary detention and exit bans to target Americans in China. Chairman @RepMoolenaar has repeatedly called for the release of Youlin Chen and Min Zin and remains committed to securing the freedom of Americans wrongfully detained by the CCP. semafor.com/article/10/16/20…

China-linked scam syndicates are stealing Americans' retirement and life savings while corrupting foreign governments to shield their operations from law enforcement. Chairman @RepMoolenaar’s bipartisan Dismantle Foreign Scam Syndicates Act would dismantle these transnational criminal networks and protect Americans from CCP-backed exploitation.

Wanying "Heather" Zhang has been charged for operating as an unregistered Chinese foreign agent. This @CBSNews investigation reveals links between Zhang and an alleged Cambodian criminal organization accused of using forced labor to run multibillion-dollar scams targeting Americans. Earlier this year, a Select Committee investigation titled "Crime, Corruption, and Power: CCP-Linked Transnational Crime and the Rise of a Distributed Threat to U.S. National Security," exposed how these China-linked networks concentrated in southeast Asia, fuel human trafficking, cybercrime, and billions in annual losses for Americans. These scam centers are stealing from Americans, undermine U.S. partners, and expand the CCP’s influence in a strategically critical region. cbsnews.com/news/alleged-chi…

Iran was behind the plot that targeted U.S. military assets in the UK last month. Iran is backed by China and the CCP is always working to help the regime in Tehran work against us. China buys Iranian oil and it has been linked to the satellite imagery that was used in an Iranian strike that killed three American troops. washingtonexaminer.com/news/…

Select Committee on China retweeted
Transparency is critical. I really hope this release helps universities and research institutions advance security programs and efforts to prevent China from stealing basically anything it can. Eyes wide open. @ChinaSelect
🚨 The Select Committee on China has released 700+ pages of previously non-public, unclassified investigative records concerning research security cases investigated by the NSF Office of Inspector General (chinaselectcommittee.house.g…). The records document cases involving undisclosed foreign appointments, compensation from 🇨🇳 institutions, participation in 🇨🇳 talent recruitment programs, conflicts of commitment, and repeated failures to disclose information required by federal research funding agencies. ⬇️⬇️⬇️ Chunmei Wang, Texas Tech University Xiang-Qiang Chu, Wayne State University An Chen, Iowa State University Franklin Tao, University of Kansas Center for Research Inc Hu “Tiger” Tao, University of Texas-Austin Chenzhong Li, Florida International University Shaorong Liu, University of Oklahoma Hu Bin, University of Tennessee Knoxville James Ricles, Lehigh University Sebastian Bednarek, University of Wisconsin-Madison Mingqing Xiao, Southern Illinois University-Carbondale Weiwei Deng, University of Central Florida / Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) Alex Liu, Michigan State University Tao Li, University of Florida Le Song, Georgia Tech Research Corporation Tim Li, University of Hawaii / Hawaii Earth Science Consulting Various Principal Investigators / Co-PIs, Stanford University 👉🏻 an Oct 2022 NSF investigation identified at least 26 Stanford University research awards involving researchers who participated in foreign-funded projects that had not been disclosed to the agency. Those awards had more than $12.8M in associated claimed costs, according to the investigative records. Investigators recommended suspending 14 awards because of disclosure deficiencies. The documents do not establish that NSF ultimately suspended all 14 awards or that the entire $12.8M was improperly spent. The investigation also identified Stanford professor Richard Zare as holding a Chinese Thousand Talents Program appointment requiring 3 months of work annually at a foreign university. Stanford had known about Zare’s appointment since May 2019 but had not formally notified NSF. Investigators recommended suspending his research award, which had received ~$464,000. Wenlu Zhu, Wenlu Zhu, Chunsheng Wang, and Ming C. Lin, University of Maryland College Park Luiqing Yang, University of Minnesota, Twin Cities Enrique Lavernia, University of California-Irvine 👉🏻 a 2020 NSF investigation involving Enrique Lavernia, a Cuba-born materials scientist who served as executive vice chancellor and provost of the University of California-Irvine until Mar of that year. Investigators documented his undisclosed affiliations with Wuhan University of Technology and other Chinese institutions, including participation in Beijing’s Thousand Talents recruitment program. Wuhan University of Technology publicly identified Lavernia as a strategic scientist and reported that he received the Chinese Government Friendship Award in Sep 2017. A Chinese Academy of Engineering document credited Lavernia’s work with helping China develop advanced materials and manufacturing technologies for defense weapons and equipment. The records also contain an unsigned Chinese employment contract offering $50,000 per month, research-team funding, laboratory support, and other benefits. Lavernia repeatedly omitted Chinese affiliations and compensation from federal research disclosures and a Department of Energy Top Secret security-clearance reinvestigation. The NSF investigation identified ~$5.2M in federal research awards associated with him since fiscal year 2012. NSF imposed a government-wide suspension in July 2020, temporarily barring him from receiving federal grants and contracts. Lavernia joined Texas A&M University in 2023. In Mar 2026, the university named him a university distinguished professor, its highest faculty distinction. University materials identify NSF and Energy Department support for his research. chinaselectcommittee.house.g…

President Trump has made clear that America must WIN the AI race. That means strengthening export controls to keep advanced AI chips out of the hands of the CCP. Unfettered access to American AI technology risks accelerating China’s military capabilities and expanding its surveillance and repression. We cannot fuel the CCP’s rise at the expense of our national security. Read this @AmerCompass article to learn more: americancompass.org/strength…

This month @Adweek honored @Starbucks with the cover story of its magazine. We’ve taken the liberty of updating the cover to draw attention to the coffee company’s horrific decision to open stores in Xinjiang, where the CCP is committing genocide against Uyghurs. The genocide is ongoing and well-documented. Chairman @RepMoolenaar has called for Starbucks to close its Xinjiang stores immediately.
