The broader scientific community remains cautious. A reactionless drive of this kind would appear to contradict Newton's third law and the conservation of momentum. Earlier claims for "impossible" engines, such as the EmDrive, were ultimately debunked after careful testing eliminated experimental artifacts.
Buhler's extensive expertise in electrostatics, developed at NASA's Kennedy Space Center, gives the announcement more credibility than most fringe proposals. Nevertheless, the results require rigorous independent replication and peer-reviewed validation before they can be accepted as a genuine breakthrough.

Edward Leedskalnin, the Latvian-born builder of Florida’s Coral Castle, shaped and positioned multiton limestone blocks using ingenious tools.
He famously claimed...

He said he understood how ancient builders in Egypt, Peru, Yucatán and Asia raised enormous stones with primitive tools.
In Magnetic Current, discussing rapid versus slow coil motion, he wrote: “the time is important.”
Then there are the supposed eyewitnesses.
In Joe Bullard’s later retelling, two boys said they saw stones float “like hydrogen balloons.” Other accounts describe a driver returning to find his trailer loaded after leaving Ed alone.
But the engineering question is fascinating. what could organized vibration actually do?

Pulses entering a supported stone, energy circulating and returning, then motion concentrated where the stone meets its support.
It’s a conceptual animation with assumed coupling and exaggerated motion.
The idea is pretty straightforward.
Find a vibration the stone responds to.
Build up useful motion inside it.
Time that motion so its contact with the ground becomes easier to move.
A stone can keep its full weight while requiring much less force to guide it.
How much less?
In our earlier simplified computer model, the average pulling force for an illustrative five-tonne load dropped by 99.3% once we assumed the required vibration reached the contact.
About 24,500 newtons became about 172.
That is the 99% result , and the assumption matters. We prescribed a tiny vibration of 10 micrometres at about 144 Hz, with very slow forward movement. We have not achieved this with a real stone.
The vibrator still supplies energy and substantial alternating forces. The engineering challenge is delivering that motion under load.
The next finding was just as interesting, changing WHEN the stone was pressed harder against its support changed whether the vibration resisted movement or helped drive it.
Timing becomes a control.
