— Was the name “Ethiopia” a new concept? : A short thread —
The individual below claims that they (the British) were not used to name “Ethiopia” at that time since the state of Ethiopia is a modern concept originating in the early 1940s. However, is this claim factually accurate? Let us examine historical letters from Ethiopian emperors to explore the validity of this claim.

This is what I call a force in #Africa. 8th largest in the world🇪🇬. Forget Abiy's🇪🇹 12 Su-35, he does not even have pilots to fly them.

When you’ve killed 5 zombies, 2 vampires and burnt 8 witches but start wondering why they’re all carrying candy bags
(I should’ve checked the calendar)
That’s because you’re more worried about the engagement by framing group of people instead of appreciating what they do to fix the anti-blackness in our community.
“turn their attention to educating and calling out the anti-Blackness in their own communities” there hasn’t been a single day where our women haven’t educated and/or called out the anti-blackness in our community, trying to set them up like this is nasty… do better!

A picture worth 1,000 words. ❤️
After two wonderful months in Riyadh, we had to leave rather suddenly, without my husband. It was a long, exhausting journey from Bahrain to Addis Ababa and finally home to Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.
On our Ethiopian Airlines flight, we all fell fast asleep. When I woke up, my four-year-old daughter was missing from her seat. I found her a few rows ahead, fast asleep in the arms of a lovely flight attendant named Lydia.
She had woken up crying and confused, and Lydia, not wanting to disturb me, had picked her up, comforted her and rocked her back to sleep. My little girl stayed there for the next three hours.
In the middle of a difficult journey, this beautiful act of kindness meant the world. Thank you, Ethiopian Airlines, and especially Lydia, for reminding us that kindness and humanity know no borders. ❤️
