Halloween decorations are up, but here's the real version for this season: a reminder of who got burned, and who's still here. The street is a pop-up coven, the signs, spellwork.
Defiant, funny, and potent enough to clear a room of bad excuses.

When I shot this I noticed how the glassy water mirrored the lue sky, forming bands of sand, sea and clouds.

How's this for some fall color?
I'm hosting Janet Dyer's "Two White Trees in Harriman State Park." The bold reds and warm ochres lean into cool whites, while darker tones holds the composition steady.

Bernadette Longo's "Footpath at Dawn" invites you into a pale, mist-lit clearing.
Angled shafts of light and arching branches form a green tunnel that gently pulls you along the trail. Leaf litter and scattered twigs give the ground texture.

Janet Dyer’s "Path through Green" lays out stacked planes of lime against deeper leaf tones.
A pale winding path nudges the eye between trunks. Small flashes of cool pink near the left edge give the greens a lift.

"Streak of Sunlight" by Janet Dyer is up now on Boese Galleries.
A streak of light crosses layered greens, the small white house peeks through the trees, and a diagonal lane pulls your eye forward.
The colors feel lively and calm at once. buff.ly/38AEH08

This painting always just grabs me, as I hone in on the little house in the field of wheat.
The band of blue water holds the view. Textures in the grasses and along the shore guide the eye in this original by Janet Dyer.

It’s sad to see how corrupted you’ve become by politics. You have been given the gift of a remarkable heritage and ministry. But like pearls thrown at swine, you choose instead to wallow in the gutter of the most hateful brand of politics, parroting Trump’s lies. Praying for you.
Do you know who to vote for in the midterms? Let me give you some help, but you decide. The Democratic Party wants open borders, while the Republican Party wants secure borders. The Democratic Party wants noncitizens to be able to vote; the Republican Party supports requiring voter ID. The Democratic Party wants to give taxpayer-funded benefits like healthcare to noncitizens; the Republican Party says No to that. And there are a hundred more issues. The choice is yours—but look prayerfully at what both parties stand for.

SpaceX Investor @GerberKawasaki tells me he’s not only “disgusted…from a humanity perspective” by restrictions on Starlink in Ukraine, but also: “…they've given everybody a reason not to use Starlink, that Starlink isn't reliable for national security for anybody but Trump.”

With two weeks until Election Day, we are at the intersection of Donald Trump's plan to make it harder for you to vote and easier for him to cheat. When Republicans lose the House and Senate Trump will escalate the attacks. But he will fail and we will win.

Cruelty is the point: Rachel Maddow is reporting 10 million Americans will be kicked off Medicaid on Jan 1, and 20 million more will be ruined by skyrocketing ACA premiums.
The Trump regime's timing is pure barbarism. It was designed to brutalize regular Americans by pulling the rug out from under people the second the midterms ended and all the votes were locked in — with ZERO fucks given to the human suffering it will cause.
Forcing working class families to choose between buying food and losing life-saving healthcare isn't just a cynical Republican policy decision, it's a cruel and sadistic betrayal of 30 million Americans.
