Dolly Parton continues to change state policy, even after her passing. Two months ago, the State Capitol Commission agreed to stop lighting the Tennessee Capitol different colors for different causes. They felt like it got too confusing. The standard color would be white.

But then Dolly Parton passed, and the Governor, House and Senate Speaker all asked for an exception to that policy, and lit the coupela pink in honor of Dolly. Well, the Commission met again today and agreed to light the Capitol pink again on 9/25 (in honor of her song 9 to 5.)

Oh, and they decided Dolly was a good example of why this policy needed adjusting. Moving forward -- if the Governor, House Speaker and Senate Speaker all agree -- the capitol can be lit a different color in honor or memory of someone or a cause. Should we call it the Dolly rule?
