A 66 year old man was killed in his own home by an 18 year old.
The catch?
That 18 year old was supposed to be locked up until he was 21.
Rodney Gray, 66, was found dead inside his home on Oct. 27 when police responded to an intrusion alarm.
Caedan Hotchkiss, 18, is charged with his murder.
He allegedly used a fire poker and a kitchen knife.
He then stole Gray's 2023 Mercedes.
Hotchkiss criminal history:
* Burglary
* Aggravated arson
* Criminal damaging
* Unauthorized use of a car
At age 15, a judge ordered him to stay in Ohio's youth prison system until 21.
But the judge suspended his sentence that same day.
Instead, he got probation.
He was sent to a group home in Florida, which sent him back.
Bond is now set at more than $1.275 million.
His grand jury date is Nov. 6.
He was a menace at 15 and an accused murderer at 18.

Think about that.
